Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "The Facts of Life Goes to Paris Pt. 1"- Which hotel was Ms. Garrett staying at while in Paris?

Answer: Le Petit Ritz

The girls would be taking a bus to a different location, but she told Tootie that the owner of the hotel was sending a car to pick her up from the airport. Tootie assumed a limo, but what showed up was a tiny Volkswagen. When she left them, Ms. Garrett told the girls she'd see them all in four weeks for the flight home.

At the time of writing this quiz, 2015, the incorrect choices were hotels located in the French Quarter of New Orleans, Louisiana.
2. "The Facts of Life Goes to Paris Pt. 1"- Which of the girls was *not* taking pictures through the bus windows on their way to the Gerard School?

Answer: Jo

Tootie kept exclaiming "I can't believe it" as she snapped pictures. Her over exuberance was annoying to Jo. Natalie and Blair also had cameras and were taking photos, but less so than Tootie. The stern looking headmistress, Miss Southwick, warned them not to put their hands outside of the windows.

Vivian Brown played Miss Southwick.
3. "The Facts of Life Goes to Paris Pt. 1"- Chef Antoine was pleased to see that Ms. Garrett was attending his cooking school.

Answer: False

He was not happy she was there and was very critical of Americans in general. When she took her souffle out of the oven and successfully placed it without the top caving in, she became excited and clapped. This caused everyone's souffle to collapse.
4. "The Facts of Life Goes to Paris Pt. 1"- After a month long "incarceration" at their sister school, the girls were able to sneak away. Which one left the rest to attend a car race in Le Mans?

Answer: Jo

They had to spend a month about an hour outside of Paris, at their sister school. They attended classes and had a strict regime, but did not have to wear uniforms. The last few days of the course were spent in Paris, but they were not supposed to leave the company of Miss Southwick.

They ran off anyway, but she had their passports, so Blair had a hard time using her cashiers checks. Jo was excited to be able to go to Le Mans, which she said was about 130 miles from Paris. The 24 Hours of Le Mans racing occurs in June each year.
5. "The Facts of Life Goes to Paris Pt. 2"- While out and about in Paris, Natalie and Tootie met a famous man named Garth Kiley. Natalie was especially impressed because he had what profession?

Answer: Writer

Natalie was a budding journalist and recognized the writer of her favorite book, "A Small Room in Manhattan". Tootie was just glad to be visiting a living writer instead of all of the burial sites of dead ones. The next day, there was a scene where Kim Fields' real life mom Chip played a woman named Louise. She came to warn Kiley he was about to be fired from his writing gig. Chip Fields would also go on to play Tootie's mom on two episodes in years to come.

Frank Bonner played Kiley. He may be most famous for his role as Herb on both versions of "WKRP in Cincinnati".
6. "The Facts of Life Goes to Paris Pt. 2"- Blair met a Frenchman named Georges. What was he doing when they met?

Answer: Displaying his artwork streetside

She'd already met another flattering Frenchman who tried to woo her, practically in eyesight of his wife and child. The woman may not have been married to him, but she was the boy's mother and treated the man affectionately. When Blair found Georges, she was parting ways with her snobbish friend Angelique (actress Caroline Ducrocq). Georges was displaying his artwork outside of Guy Laroche, on the sidewalk. Blair and her pal both thought this was classless, and Blair decided to tell him. Instead, she became captivated by him instantly.

Caroline Ducrocq married former "WKRP in Cincinnati" star Howard Hesseman in 1989. Dominique Bauguil played Georges.
7. "The Facts of Life Goes to Paris Pt. 3"- Jo and her friend David rescued an old lady's cat from a tree.

Answer: True

Jo encountered him first on her walk to Le Mans. He rode past her on his motorcycle, and a bit later she found him broke down on the side of the road. She tried to repair his bike, but the pair walked to a small inn or hotel and spent the night. The next day, they were back on the motorcycle heading to Le Mans, and stopped to have a picnic (as if Jo would do that), and argued over who would rescue the old lady's cat. Of course the cat was not truly stuck, because if they get up there, they can always get down.

Frederic Andrei played David.
8. "The Facts of Life Goes to Paris Pt. 4"- Blair finally met a very nice man. In what kind of establishment did he work?

Answer: Bookstore

He told her that she reminded him of his own daughter, who lived in Cleveland. Then, he gave her the book she intended to purchase as a gift. The first two men she met were duds, one a philandering artist, and the other an artist that wanted use her influence.

As Blair exited the bookstore, Jo and David walked up and went inside. The two girls never saw each other. The nice man was David's boss, and David returned to Paris to work so the man could be at the hospital with his wife. Jo gave up her trip to Le Mans to be with David.
9. "The Facts of Life Goes to Paris Pt. 4"- For her final exam, Ms. Garrett made a lobster dish for Chef Antoine. Did he enjoy it?

Answer: Yes

He was very surprised that he enjoyed it. The owner of the hotel helped Edna figure out how to improve and impress. He also let her use the hotel kitchen to practice in, which was how she perfected his advice. She passed her cooking class.
10. "The Facts of Life Goes to Paris Pt. 4"- Who was the last one to make it to the airport for the flight back to New York?

Answer: Jo

Ms. Garrett spent the last night in Paris with Blair, Nat, and Tootie. So, they all arrived at the airport together. Jo was having a hard time saying goodbye to David, so she got there last. Blair saw the goodbye with David, but kept Jo's secret and distracted the rest from her crying. She also promised Jo that she would see David again someday.
