At the very start of this episode, Dorothy was seen telling the cook, Coco, about the ridiculous hairstyles and hair colours sported by several of her pupils. Coco then shared his belief that they were only "expressing themselves", prompting an irate Dorothy to come out with the above quotation.

She was particularly angry at the fact that she had been taken to task for forcing the same students to leave her class.

Rose uttered these hilarious words to Dorothy moments after Blanche revealed to them that her new man, Harry, whom she'd only known a week, had proposed to her. While Dorothy sensibly stated that they would move if Blanche did get married, Rose continued to express her fear of possibly having to move out, culminating in this the above, comical quip.

As soon as Sophia saw Blanche, she launched into an onslaught of abuse, even going so far as to call Blanche a prostitute. Meanwhile a horrified Rose attempted to console Blanche, which prompted the latter to say that Sophia couldn't control her insults, due to the stroke she had suffered. Yet Rose insisted that she knew many women who had suffered strokes, but had still remained ladies.

Rose Nylund's quips were notoriously ridiculous and yet very funny. Her conviction that oysters move was a prime example of this, and as Dorothy tried to discover whether or not Blanche accepted Harry's marriage proposal, Rose came out with this gem. Adamant that she was right, she informed the girls that, "Oysters move! Very slowly. You have to watch very closely."

Answer: Blowgun

Rose really mixed up her words here, but was at least marginally on track. The term she was looking for was "shotgun", not "blowgun", and her mistake was certainly entertaining, at least for the audience. Dorothy on the other hand, could only retort with, "If you live in the Amazon. In Queens it's called shotgun!"

Answer: Her ex-husband, Stan

During Dorothy's trip down memory lane, she recalled the fact that her ex-husband, Stan, once met an air stewardess on a flight to Hawaii. This eventually led to him leaving Dorothy, his wife of 38 years. Clearly still bitter, Dorothy relayed the tale to Rose, ending it with the cutting remark mentioned above.

Answer: Bigamy

Poor Blanche had been head over heels with Harry and had even agreed to marry him. However, on the day of the wedding, Blanche discovered that he was a bigamist, with at least six other wives. This all proved Rose right, as she was the only one to have been suspicious of Harry, though at the time she couldn't explain why.

Answer: A hand held mirror

As Rose and Sophia lay on loungers, trying to enjoy the sun, Dorothy placed a mirror under Sophia's nostrils, to check that she was still breathing. When Rose asked what Dorothy was doing, the latter retorted with, "Just checking. You never know."

Answer: Family

Blanche said these words to Dorothy, Rose and Sophia near the end of the episode, when she realised that she was feeling better about splitting up with Harry. As she explained, she knew she was feeling good because she was humming in the shower, which she only ever did when she was feeling good. She then spoke the above words, and thanked them for getting her through the break up.

Answer: The dog track

At the very end of this episode, Sophia exclaimed that she had a date at the dog track. Having announced it to the girls, a surprised Blanche then asked Dorothy, "Your mother bets?" With a deadpan expression, Dorothy replied, "No, she rides. She's a dog jockey". Clearly then, Dorothy was frustrated by Blanche's statement of the obvious.
