Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which member of the Midnight Society lasted for only one season and no reason was given for his disappearance?

Answer: Eric

Eric (Jacob Tierney) was only a member of the Midnight Society for the first season. At the end, he left and no explanation was given. Additionally, there was not a replacement once he left. Later in the show's run, it would be customary for an existing member of the Midnight Society to sponsor somebody and have that person be a replacement.
Incidentally, Stig (Codie Wilbee) also fits this description. He was only a member for the fifth season and when the sixth season began (three years after the fifth season ended, when most of the cast left the show) no reason was given.
2. Who was not a fan of the outdoors and brought a sofa for the members to sit on?

Answer: Megan

Megan (Elisha Cuthbert) was not comfortable being in the woods, even suggesting the Midnight Society should meet in her father's backyard. Nevertheless, she continued to attend the meetings but did ask if they could bring furniture to sit on rather than logs. Tucker, the leader of the Midnight Society, agreed.
3. Three members of the Midnight Society lasted for all five seasons of the original run. Who was not one of them?

Answer: Sam

Throughout the seven years of "Are You Afraid of the Dark?", people came and people left. The show was split into two series: the original lasting five years and the revival lasting two years. Regarding the original five year run, three members lasted all five years: Gary (Ross Hull), Betty Ann (Raine Pare-Coull) and Kiki (Jodie Resther).

In the revival, all five Midnight Society members stayed throughout the two years.
4. In "The Tale of the Dangerous Soup", Frank, the tough guy of the group, admitted his fear. What was it?

Answer: Dark

Frank's story "The Tale of the Dangerous Soup" involved chefs at a restaurant being confronted by their fear. Frank began his tale by asking each of the other members of the Midnight Society was afraid of. Kiki said dogs, Gary replied heights, Sam answered birds, and Betty Ann responded with the attic. Tucker claimed to be afraid of nothing.

When Tucker asked Frank what he was afraid of, Frank told the others that he was afraid of the dark. In an earlier episode, "The Tale of the Laughing in the Dark", it was revealed that Kristen was afraid of clowns with the villain of Betty Ann's story being Zeebo the Clown.
5. What reason was given to why some people were no longer members of the Midnight Society?

Answer: Their families had moved away.

At the end of the second season, Kristen and David left the Midnight Society. At the end of the fourth season, Frank also left. Gary explained that the reason was because each of their families had moved away. However, he also said that despite this sad time, they would be joined by new members.
6. Whose grandfather founded the Midnight Society in 1937?

Answer: Gary

In "The Tale of the Silver Sight", it was revealed that Tucker and Gary's grandfather, Gene founded the Midnight Society. Gene and his four friends were responsible for clearing the woods where the meetings were held, made the fire ring, and built the storyteller's chair. The original Midnight Society consisted of Gene, Eleanor, Donna, Lang, and Bruce.
7. Which story featured members of the Midnight Society as opposed to people thought up by the Midnight Society?

Answer: The Tale of the Silver Sight

In the three-part episode "The Tale of the Silver Sight", the Midnight Society was the one to face the supernatural rather than tell the story. However, at the end of the third part of the episode, it was revealed Gene was the one that told the story. The Midnight Society went searching for five pieces of a record that, when put together, would reveal a message about the Silver Sight, a powerful magical object that would bring bad luck to those who have it.

In fact, at least one (and maybe all five) of the friends used the charm and its evil magic. Somebody hid the charm and gave a single clue to each of the five friends, and it was up to the Midnight Society to destroy the Silver Sight once and for all.
8. Which story was told by two people instead of the usual one?

Answer: The Tale of Cutter's Treasure

The two-part episode "The Tale of Cutter's Treasure" was told by both Frank and Gary. The story included both Sardo and Dr. Vink, recurring characters thought up by Gary and Frank, respectively. The episode was about two brothers who encounter a ghost pirate named Captain Jonas Cutter. One of the brothers, Rush, must visit Dr. Vink who has knowledge of Cutter to help defeat the ghost and rescue his kidnapped brother, Max.
9. With which member of the Midnight Society was Gary in love?

Answer: Sam

From the moment the two of them met, Gary felt attracted to Sam. Sometimes he would deny it, but there was no doubt the feelings were there. Gary felt nervous about asking Sam out for fear of her saying no. Eventually, with advice from his best friend Betty Ann, Gary worked up the courage to ask Sam out and she said yes.
10. Tucker was both somebody's sponsor and a sponsor himself.

Answer: True

Tucker was the only person to sponsor somebody (Stig) but also be somebody's sponsor (his older brother, Gary). Gary's parents said Tucker could not attend meetings anymore unless he brought Tucker along, and he agreed.
Tucker was also the only person to make the transition from the fifth season to the sixth season. The two seasons aired three years apart and by that time, other cast members were attending college and therefore couldn't return to the show.
