Marcie was selected by her fellow players, based on first impressions, to be the Mole. Because of this, she became in charge of all the events that would take place in the next twenty-four hours, including deciding who would be sleeping outside in the cold after the first game was completed.

Alex said that he was confident in his ability to grab the bag hanging over the waterfall, as he mentioned he was good on his feet during certain situations; unfortunately, he could not successfully do so, and failed to maneuver himself properly to grab the bag.

Craig mentioned beforehand that he had fears that his support straps wouldn't be able to hold him up when he went over the falls. After falling and getting caught in them, his fellow players quickly worried whether or not he was okay; and even though he failed to obtain a bag, his fellow players seemed to be unaffected by this, and were simply glad that he was okay. Mark, however, stated that Craig would make a great Mole, as none of the players seemed to be disappointed in him even if he failed to accomplish a mission.

The players could have earned a total of $60,000, but of the players that successfully got a bag during the mission, only Clay and Mark were chosen by Marcie to grab for real money, instead of fake 'Mole' money.

Of the four players chosen to sleep outside, Nicole absolutely refused to do so, and came up with a plot to simply not go to sleep so that she wouldn't have to sleep outside. According to her, the rules stated that if she was asleep, she had to be asleep outside, and so she stayed up all night long in order to be able to stay inside in the warmth of the cabin.

Marcie specifically stated to Paul, "I swear to God I will kill you; I will hunt you down and find you." She said that she was good judge of character, and could tell if people lied to her.

After being chosen, Nicole stated that she preferred to be called, "Dr. Whiner." For being chosen, she was forced to stay on the beach overnight, and would not be able to join the other players for dinner that night.

Earlier in the episode, Bobby commented that the two must be in a coalition, and that it was the "stupidest coalition ever" because of how obvious it was. Later in the episode, while many of the girls were in their rooms talking to one another, Victoria joked that the two were so incredibly close that they were practically married.

Because she was chosen as the group's biggest whiner, Nicole had to stay overnight on the beach, and could not join the other players again until the next morning. An execution happened that very night, and since Nicole was not present, she was exempt from being executed.
