He also noticed that Charlie was still using drugs, and reached out to try to help him. Charlie got angry and said that he had a plane to L.A. to catch.

Sawyer had volunteered to help Sayid and Kate with the triangulation process, so Sayid sent Sawyer to climb a tree and place an antenna. As Sawyer was in the tree, Sayid told Kate that he didn't trust him. Kate thought he was talking about their plan, but Sayid clarified by saying he didn't trust Sawyer with her. Of course, Kate replied that she could handle him. She's so tough!

Considering that on numerous occasions Liam called Charlie "baby brother", it is safe to assume that Liam was the older of the two. These occasions included when Liam convinced Charlie to stay in the band and when Charlie first saw Liam with the drugs. Also, Charlie called Liam his big brother when he visited him in Sydney.

Shannon took over Boone's part of the triangulation signal when Boone went to help at the cave-in. When it was Shannon's turn to set off her rocket, she was talking to another female survivor. Shannon said that she had been in Malibu, but the guys there were real idiots. Just then, her friend saw Sayid's rocket, and Shannon remembered that she had a job to do, so she hurried to set off the rocket on the beach.

Kate was trying to get a laptop from Sawyer's horde, but Sawyer said he didn't have one. After he made a snide remark about her and Jack, Kate called Sawyer a parasite and said that no one missed him at home. Sawyer asked if she was feeling sorry for him, and Kate replied that she pitied him.

At that, Sawyer smiled and produced a laptop, telling Kate, "All you had to do was say please".

Charlie confronted Liam over missing a sound check and a rehearsal in a flashback. Liam didn't seem too concerned, and started taking drugs in front of Charlie. Charlie then decided that things had gotten too crazy and that they needed to walk away from the band. Liam got very angry and said some extremely hurtful things to Charlie, including that without the band, Charlie was completely useless. Nice way for a guy to talk to his little brother, isn't it? After that, Liam stormed out, leaving Charlie alone. Charlie picked up Liam's drugs and began crying, suggesting that this was the moment he began using drugs.

He later told Liam in Sydney that Liam had done this (the drug abuse) to him.

The very first thing we saw Charlie doing in this episode was him playing his guitar at the caves. He looked extremely tense and nervous, and was sweating a bit, most likely a result of drug detoxification. Locke came long and asked Charlie to go for a walk with him, telling him that the fresh air would do him good. We later saw Charlie in the jungle running away from the boar, and it was revealed that Locke was using Charlie as bait.

When Michael and the others from the beach arrived at the cave-in, he automatically took charge due to his construction experience. He told Walt to stay back, and Walt said that they should get Locke to help. Hurley then replied that Locke was in the jungle "killing stuff".
