Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the "Range Game", the contestants are told that the range finder can't be started for how many hours if you make a mistake?

Answer: 37

In the "Range Game", the contestant has to make sure that the price they are looking for is in the dark green section while it is going up. If they make a mistake and press the button to early to stop it, Barker always warns them in the beginning that "they can't start the range finder again for 37 hours." In other words, you only have one chance at it.
2. In "Spelling Bee", what is the highest dollar amount you could walk away with?

Answer: $2500

As the contestants get each prize right or close to the amount that it is, they win a card. They get two free cards at the beginning. If they get one of the prizes correct, they win all the three cards left. Each card has a dollar amount of $500 which then translates to $2500 if they get all 5 cards. Of course, who is not going to go for the car that is the grand prize of the game!
3. In "Hole In One," how much is the bonus if you get all of the products in order?

Answer: $500

In "Hole In One", if the contestant gets all of the product amounts in the correct ascending order, they win a $500 bonus. They also have a great shot into the hole because they are practically on top of it by then. However, Barker always shows off his "inspirational putt" from way back from the hole.
4. In "Card Game", what are the values of the Aces?

Answer: any amount

In the "Card Game", the prize is usually a car. Aces are wild and can be made into anything the contestant wants. Just so long as they don't go over. They can get within a dollar amount previously drawn at the beginning of the game. A dollar amount $2500 is a sure bet. Face cards are $1000 and the other cards are of their value in $100 increments. For example, if the contestant pulls a 5 of diamonds, they add $500 to the total on the bid they are going for.
5. In "Triple Play", contestants can still win at least one car- even if they get the other two wrong.

Answer: False

The only way you win this game is if you win ALL three cars. Even if you get the first two, if you don't get the third you don't get any of them including the ones you got correct earlier.
6. What is the dollar amount you need to 'buy the car' in "Lucky Seven"?

Answer: 1

Barker gives you seven $1 bills. If the contestant calls out a 5 and the number was a 4, they give up one dollar. The first number is given. At the end of the game if the contestant has at least one dollar left, they need that to "buy the car." If they use all seven chances up and got the price right, they lose because they don't have the dollar to buy the car.
7. In "Squeeze Play", either of the end numbers can be removed.

Answer: False

In the game "Squeeze Play," it's only one of the middle 3 numbers that can be removed. The first and last number ARE in the price of the prize.
8. In total, how many contestants are called to "come on down" during the show?

Answer: 9

In total, 9 contestants are called to "come on down." There is the 4 at the start of the show and then one for each of the 5 other games. This makes for a total of 9.
9. In "One Away," what sound is given if the contestant has a number right?

Answer: car horn sound

If the contestant has at least one number correct, a car horn is sounded. The contestant is prompted to ask, "Ladies, do I have at least one number correct?" (beep)...and this continues unless they hear no more horns or they do indeed all five number correct.
10. From which of these cities in California does Bob Barker say the dogs and cats that sometime make an appearance on the show are from?

Answer: Burbank

From time to time, Barker always has a little kitten or cute puppy being held on the show. He states about the animal and says that "you can find a little fella like that at the Humane Society in Burbank, California, or if you don't live in this area you can find other cats and dogs at your local animal shelter. Barker is a strong advocate for animals rights.

He also finishes his shows up with "Help control the pet population. Have your pets spayed or neutered." Good bye, everybody.
