Stephanie was a doctor, and did her medical internship in Texas, at the same hospital where Leonard's roommate, Sheldon, was born. Sheldon thought that she made the perfect addition to their "Star Trek" group as the medical officer, but Leonard felt that things were moving a bit too fast when Stephanie moved into his room; he texted her to break off the relationship.

Priya is Raj's sister, and her relationship with Leonard causes Raj much concern because he knows how his parents would react to her dating a foreigner. She and Leonard date for eight months before she returns to India, and their long distance relationship afterward doesn't last very long.

Bernadette Rostenkowski-Wolowitz is very petite and blonde. She meets Howard when she and Penny work together at the Cheesecake Factory. It doesn't seem like they had very much in common until they begin talking about their mothers. Howard and Bernadette are married by their friends, who were all ordained as ministers.

Leonard's mother seems very cold and impersonal, and neglects to tell Leonard family information such as his dog dying. In addition, she enjoys diagnosing Leonard and his friends' problems: Penny has childhood issues with her father, Howard and Raj are an "ersatz homosexual couple," and she rarely has anything kind to say to her own son. She does get along well with Sheldon.

Leslie Winkle works in the lab with Leonard. She is probably as intelligent as Sheldon is, but is his "archenemy". Her relationship with Leonard doesn't work out, because while he believes in string theory, she believes in loop quantum gravity. Her relationship with Howard is more of a "friends with benefits", and she ends it over the phone. Leonard and Raj then take Howard to Las Vegas to cheer him up.
