Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. I was beheaded by Ser Ilyn Payne on "Game of Thrones".

Answer: Ned Stark

Ned Stark was executed for treason by the order of King Joffrey Baratheon. Joffrey was the heir of Ned's best friend, King Robert. In actuality, Joffrey was the offspring of his mother and her twin brother. Sean Bean played Ned as an older man, and in flashbacks he was portrayed by younger actors.
2. I died from the aftermath of a ruptured arteriovenous malformation (AVM) on "Six Feet Under".

Answer: Nate Fisher

Nathaniel Fisher Jr. was played by Peter Krause. Nate died in the show's final season, after suffering from the symptoms of his AVM for several years. After he experienced a rupture, he actually woke up from a coma and was believed to be on the road to recovery. But, he died in his sleep shortly thereafter. Peter Krause also spent six seasons on the series "Parenthood".
3. I was decapitated by the Governor on "The Walking Dead".

Answer: Hershel Greene

The Governor used Hershel to try and make the group comply with his desire to take the prison. And, while Rick tried to prevent the man's death, the Governor wanted to hurt Rick. So, he used a sword to cut Hershel's head off. At first, he was only partially decapitated, but the Governor eventually finished the job. Michonne came through the scene afterward, found his reanimated head, and ended its undead life. Scott Wilson played Hershel.
4. Unfortunately, I died from a heart attack after my daughter's wedding on "Roseanne".

Answer: Dan Conner

The truth of this event was not revealed until the series finale. It was portrayed that the Conner family had won the lottery in the final season, but that was all a story written by Roseanne. Dan died after Darlene's wedding (to Mark, not David as we thought), Becky and David were married, Roseanne's sister Jackie was a lesbian, and Roseanne was trying to find her identity after being married for so long. I can relate to her on that aspect. John Goodman played Dan Conner.
5. I died of a fatal heart condition when I was only 25 years old on the series "Dawson's Creek".

Answer: Jen Lindley

The series jumped forward in the series finale to the year 2008. Jen, there from the series premier, had developed a fatal heart condition. She died very young, leaving her daughter in the care of her best friend Jack. Michelle Williams played Jen. She went on to star in "Brokeback Mountain" and have a much publicized romance with actor Heath Ledger.
6. I drove my motorcycle into an oncoming semi truck near the same spot my father died on "Sons of Anarchy".

Answer: Jax Teller

In the series finale of "Sons of Anarchy", Jax Teller decided to take his own life. This was after learning his mother had killed his wife. Then, he had killed his mother to give Tara some justice. The lies his mother, Gemma, told surrounding Tara's death had caused the biker club so many more problems.

It was hinted that Gemma had also been somewhat responsible for the death of Jax's father, though she hadn't actually killed John Teller herself. Charlie Hunnam played this adored anti-hero protagonist for seven seasons. With all that was done, there was no way Jax was making it out of Charming alive.
7. An undetected brain injury took my life after over a decade being on "Grey's Anatomy".

Answer: Dr. Derek Shepherd

Derek was not able to speak about the injuries he'd sustained, but the audience could hear his thoughts. So, he did not receive a scan that would have shown the problem and most likely saved his life. By the time Meredith arrived at the hospital, it was too late.

She took him off of life support, as per his own wishes, and did not give his sister a chance to intervene. The aftermath of Meredith's life was sped up for audiences. She was seen having another child, as she was pregnant when Derek died, and ignoring her friends' requests for information on her well being.

When she finally returned, her sister-in-law was fostering unresolved anger on Meredith's decision to take Derek off of life support. Patrick Dempsey played Derek.
8. I was thrown off of a subway platform into an oncoming train on "House of Cards".

Answer: Zoe Barnes

Zoe Barnes was a reporter who was also sleeping with a politician named Frank Underwood. When Zoe pressed too hard, and got too close to Frank's dirty work, he tried to reason with her. But, being the pragmatist that he was, Frank quickly recognized that there was no reasoning with Zoe. So, he walked away from her, to a darkened and partitioned off area, where she followed.

Then, he took her by the arms and threw her into an oncoming subway train. Kate Mara played Zoe.
9. I died from a burst brain aneurysm in the fifth season of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer".

Answer: Joyce Summers

Joyce had been diagnosed with a brain tumor earlier in the season. Then, she received a very successful tumor removal. Just when things seemed to be back on track for Joyce, she died quickly and alone in her home. Buffy came home and found her mother dead on the sofa.

She called for help, but it was too late. Joyce's surgeon, who did an immediate autopsy on Joyce's head (very unrealistic) reported back that same day that Joyce's cause of death was most likely caused by the surgery. Joss Whedon, the show's creator, lost his own mother in the same manner. Kristine Sutherland played Joyce.
10. I was killed when a mortar strike was ordered on my home, on the series "NCIS".

Answer: Ziva David

The character had departed the series a couple of seasons prior. But, when she was officially killed, Agent DiNozzo found out that Ziva had given birth to their daughter. He decided to leave NCIS to take care of his child, and look for answers in Ziva's death. Ziva was played by Cote de Pablo.
