'Criminal Minds' is about the FBI's profiling team. It focuses on how they solve a crime by zeroing in on the perpetrator rather than peripheral elements of the crime. They try to find out what makes the criminal tick in order to catch them. Jeanne Tripplehorn and Mandy Patinkin have both had starring roles in this show which started on air in 2005.

Answer: The Amazing Race

The Amazing Race' started on American television in 2001 and has spawned international versions of the show in at least ten countries. The aim of the game is to race your fellow competitors around the world while facing challenges along the way.

The competing teams are couples with some sort of relationship prior to the show. They might be married, siblings, friends, colleagues etc. They work their way around the world catching planes, trains, rickshaws, boats or whatever transport solution will get them to their next destination in the quickest time possible. Couples are eliminated periodically in the show, and the first couple to the final destination wins the grand prize.

Answer: Eight is Enough

For five seasons, 'Eight is Enough' told the story of journalist Tom Bradford, single father of eight children. Tom married Abby early in the series and she became stepmother to the brood. The plots revolved around the normal 'crises' of children ranging in age from around eight to young adult.

The show was inspired by real life journalist Tom Braden who wrote a book called 'Eight is Enough' which detailed life with his eight children. 'Eight is Enough' ran from 1977 to 1981.

Answer: I Dream of Jeannie

From 1965 to 1970, Barbara Eden and Larry Hagman entertained us by playing Jeannie, a genie in a bottle, and an astronaut who found the bottle on a beach. He took the bottle home and out popped Jeannie who adopted him as her master. Over the intervening five years, love developed between the two, leading to marriage. Jeannie, both before and after the marriage, created havoc in Major Nelson's life. Only the major and his friend and colleague, Roger Healy, knew of her magical powers which seemed to go awry and/or manufacture confusion and chaos each every episode. Major Nelson then had to try and disguise the chaos or bluff his way through it all to avoid a military court-martial.

Answer: King of the Hill

Hank Hill was the patriarch of the Hill family of Arlen, Texas. An animated show with more adult concepts, 'King of the Hill' ran for thirteen seasons (259 episodes) and told the tale of the Methodist, conservative Hill family. Comedy was found in everyday situations. Strangely for a cartoon, there were carry-over stories and cliff-hangers unlike most cartoons in which the story is self-contained in each episode.

Mike Judge, one of the creators of 'King of the Hill', was also one of the creative team behind 'Beavis and Butthead'.

Answer: Without a Trace

From 2002, 'Without a Trace' was a TV show detailing the search for a missing person by the FBI's Missing Persons Unit in New York City. Anthony LaPaglia, Poppy Montgomery, Marianne Jean-Baptiste and Eric Close were four of the agents in the team who tried to find a missing person in the vital, early hours of a disappearance.

The show ran for 160 episodes over seven years and at the end of each episode, an public service announcement was made. The announcement was often a plea to help locate a real missing person, but sometimes it was an advertisement for a suicide prevention hotline or similar public service.

Answer: Supernatural

The Winchesters are brothers who hunt paranormal beings and phenomena on 'Supernatural'. Jared Padalecki plays Sam Winchester and Jensen Ackles plays his brother, Dean. They search for things that go bump in the night in locations as diverse as cemeteries, hospitals, asylums, prisons and even a gingerbread house.

The show premiered in 2005 and despite the pilot episode being made in Los Angeles, most of the subsequent filming was done in Vancouver, Canada.

Answer: Growing Pains

The Seavers were a Long Island family with initially three, then four children. Mum (Maggie) was a journalist, while dad (Jason) was a psychiatrist who worked from home, leaving him to deal with many of the day to day dramas three children can create. 'Growing Pains' aired initially from 1985 to 1992, with Leonardo DiCaprio making an appearance early in his career.

All the dramas of Wisteria Lane were played out for viewers of 'Desperate Housewives' in the years 2004 to 2012. Underneath the veneer of suburban normality lay intrigue with murder, affairs, jealousies, pregnancies (real and fake), and illness all playing a part in the housewives' lives.
