Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Klaus has five other siblings whose names we know. What are their names?

Answer: Rebekah, Kol, Elijah, Finn, Henrik

Klaus and his siblings are the children of Esther and Mikael, who settled in Mystic Falls before the Founders whom the Council believe were the first settlers in the town. Esther is the Original Witch and she created the first vampire family. Mikael is the biological father of all of Esther's children with the exception of Klaus.
2. It cannot be argued that Klaus has a talent for killing, maiming and evil. However, he has a more cultural outlet; what is it?

Answer: Art

During the episode "Dangerous Liaisons" at the Mikaelson Ball, Klaus takes Caroline on a tour of the mansion and during it, she finds some sketches that Klaus himself did. He also has a rare and expensive art collection amd is proud of the fact that one of his landscapes is featured in The Hermitage. Caroline becomes the recipient of an original Mikaelson drawing with the caption: "Thank you for your honesty. Klaus."
3. It was revealed that before his arrival in Mystic Falls in the time when the main action of the series occurs, Klaus was close to the Salvatore brothers when they met in Chicago.

Answer: False

Klaus only met Stefan Salvatore prior to his return to 21st-century Mystic Falls and they were like brothers as Klaus admired Stefan's ripper spirit and his true brotherly love as it was then. However, once Klaus realised that Mikael was close on his and Rebekah's tails, he compelled Stefan to forget about the Originals he had just unknowingly met and not to remember until Klaus compelled him to do so.
4. Which man/men has Klaus possessed the body of in seasons 2 and 3?

Answer: Tyler and Alaric

When Klaus first comes to Mystic Falls, he conceals himself within the body of Alaric to infiltrate the school dance to try and get the doppelganger. He is safely extracted from Alaric and restored to his own body. In the finale of season 3, the cliffhanger reveals that Bonnie cast a spell to put Klaus' soul into Tyler's body in order to save her friends, whose bloodline Klaus created.
5. It is generally believed that Klaus created the bloodline that includes the Salvatore brothers but which of these other vampires does NOT come from the same bloodline?

Answer: Sage

Elijah and Rebekah, after believing that Klaus perished when vampire slayer Alaric plunged the White Oak ring-enforced stake into Klaus' heart, killing him, speculate that they are sure that Klaus did generate the bloodline of the Mystic Falls vampires. Both Caroline and Isobel were turned by Damon Salvatore's blood and both Salvatores were turned by Katherine Pierce/Katerina Petrova, but Sage was turned by Finn and consequently dies when her maker does.
6. Back to Klaus' nature to kill, which of these unfortunate people does Klaus kill?

Answer: Jenna Sommers

Henrik Mikaelson is Klaus' younger brother who is killed when the Mikaelson clan are still human, when the two boys go to watch the werewolves transforming at the full moon, thus his death is an accident not a planned death at the direct hands of Klaus. Alaric Saltzman is finally killed when Elena Gilbert is driven for the second time over Wickery Bridge and dies, killing Alaric whose life is linked to hers. Bill Forbes is in turn killed by Alaric during an early vampire slayer episode when Alaric is still unaware of his dual identity. Jenna Sommers is killed during the ritual that Klaus performs to activate his werewolf nature, making him into a hybrid.
7. What is the missing word from this quote: "I _____ you. Is that so hard to believe?"

Answer: fancy

Klaus says this outside the Mikaelson mansion in the episode "Dangerous Liaisons" to Caroline. Klaus confesses his attraction to the blonde vampire and she is astonished, but she sees his softer side when he tells her about his relationship with Mikael and his opinions on horses. Caroline does rather ruin his romantic moment by reminding him that nobody likes him and leaves him outside, while she goes in to be with the people who "actually like" her.
8. Klaus' desire and pathological need for vengeance against anyone who ruins one of his diabolical plans, attacks him or people who he cares about, defines his character. When Katerina Petrova, the doppelganger on whom he depended to perform the ritual to activate his hybrid side, is turned into a vampire, albeit accidentally, he slaughters her entire family as revenge.

Answer: False

He very nearly does kill her entire family, however he isn't able to kill her illegitimate daughter, who was given away by Katerina's father moments after her birth. This daughter would be the one who continues the Petrova bloodline, thus the phenomenon of the Petrova doppelganger is able to recur with the birth of Elena Gilbert to John Gilbert and Isobel Flemming, who is a descendant of Katerina Petrova's daughter.
9. Klaus' English accent and old fashioned manner of speaking are notable aspects of his character, which Joseph Morgan pulls off stunningly. Klaus has several words that are part of his catchphrases or that are motifs for his character. Which of these could not be said to be one of them?

Answer: Diabolical

Klaus calls Caroline "love" on multiple occasions and he calls Stefan "ripper" a lot when they are on their trip together at the beginning of season 3, when Stefan is murdering his way up and down America at Klaus' command. He uses "sweetheart" generically. "Diabolical" is a word that could more closely be attributed to the Salvatore brothers, in particular, during the aftermath of Lexi's staking, when Stefan is trying to mimic Damon and then Damon returns the favour.
10. In the finale of season 3, Klaus' body is staked by Alaric Saltzman with the indestructible resurrection-enforced white oak stake and we see his body consumed by flames. However, it seems that this is not the end of Klaus' story. Shockingly, which character saves him from the ultimate vampire slayer?

Answer: Bonnie Bennett

At the end of the episode, Bonnie is seen to enter the crypt where Tyler usually goes to shift into a werewolf and where he arranges to meet Caroline so that they can leave Mystic Falls together. When Tyler keels over, they both think he is dying because Klaus has been staked, so Tyler forces Caroline to leave him. Later, when Bonnie arrives, it is revealed that she cast a spell which transferred Klaus' spirit to Tyler's body, thus saving his life.
