Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Gary and Jess purchased the old Iverson place when it went up for sale.

Answer: False

In town, children watch another airing of Candle Cove as it hits the airwaves.
In 1988, a young Mike and Eddie blew out the candles on their birthday cakes at the kitchen table. In the present day, Marla scrubs her son's blood from the same table. She soon heads to the police station to search for her son, brought into custody by Gary, but discovers that they never arrived. They head to the hospital to ask Jess where he is, but no one can seem to locate either of them.
Instead, Gary drives Mike out to the old Iverson Place which, despite their interest, was bought by a non-local a while back. Gary is there to face the truth with Mike. He brings Mike into the house, unfinished from its renovations and left virtually abandoned, and asks him to sit in the living room.
2. Mrs. Booth, while teaching a science class, confiscates which of these from a student?

Answer: Cell phone

Before her class begins a lesson on the different systems of the human body, Mrs. Booth remembers 1988 as well. She lived with her boy, Jacob, and at the time suffered from seizures. As she teaches her science lesson, she confiscates a phone from one of her students who, although initially engaged with a video game, finds himself watching Jawbone catching Sharkbait on another episode of 'Candle Cove'. She doesn't see this.
In the abandoned house, Gary zip-ties Mike to his chair and they wait until Daphne and Tim arrive.
3. Which of Tim's relatives was killed during the 'Candle Cove' deaths in 1988?

Answer: His brother

Tim and Daphne end up in the abandoned house because Gary has called them there; the rumours that the Painter family has had something to do with the 1988 murders seem to be coming true. They just want to talk about the truth. Mike tells them that 'Candle Cove' was responsible for convincing kids to kill themselves, but they're all connecting the murders to him, and that's the wrong way of going about their hunt.
The truth is, in 1988, Mike went to Tim's house to convince his brother, Gene, to follow him out to the Crow's Nest.
4. According to Eddie, what was the toll to reach Candle Cove?

Answer: Teeth

Daphne tells Mike that she still dreams about 'Candle Cove', and all of them realize that it's still somewhere out there. Nonetheless, Tim is still confident that all of the kids were killed by Mike back then, but Mike says he didn't have a choice.
Back in 1988, Mike brought Gene to the Crow's Nest and there, Eddie told him that he would never be able to lie to the Skin-Taker. Getting into Gene's mind, he made it so that he would never be able to think again. Using telepathy, Eddie has Gene 'pay the toll', forcing him to remove his front teeth and walk the plank, sending him off the cliff to Candle Cove.
Eddie, Mike claims, killed the kids.
5. Who finds the children pretending to attack someone in a field?

Answer: Amy

Amy ends up driving out to find Tim while Marla and Jessica wait for Gary to return home. When she drives through town though, she's stopped by an older woman who alerts her to the fact that a group of kids is attacking someone in a nearby field. As she nears them, she finds that they're using fake knives to attack what appears to be a dummy. At Jessica's place, she asks Marla why Gary would arrest Mike, but she simply lets it slip that Mike did something unforgivable.

She tells Marla that for the past while, she and Mike had been texting and emailing each other fairly regularly until the communications simply stopped. Jessica quickly realizes that there's a key missing from the ring in the kitchen drawer.

She knows where they can find Mike.
6. Mike gets shot in the leg while held prisoner in the abandoned house.

Answer: False

Mike tries to reason with Gary-- his daughter saw the show and then one day later she tried to kill her brother. He asks Daphne what she sees in her dreams, and she says it's Jawbone, at least in the show. Tim isn't convinced by any of this though. He spreads out some plastic, pulls out a gun, and threatens to fire it at Mike while Daphne calls the police. Gary is able to subdue Tim, but not before he get a shot off at Mike's arm. That's when Jess and Marla arrive. Gary heads to the door to stop his wife from coming in, but she and Marla uncover the truth and barge into the house, finding Tim and Daphne (who run) and Mike bleeding on the ground. Amy arrives shortly after, disarms Gary, and defuses the situation.
7. Marla, opting to help her son, informs Amy that Mike never admitted to killing his brother.

Answer: True

Mike dreams that he drives out to an open field, stops his car, and closes his eyes to rest, and when he does Jacob, the boy made of teeth, opens his car door and begins to eat his fingers.
In reality, Mike is in a hospital bed being watched over by Amy and his mother. When he awakens, Amy tells him to explain what happened.
In 1988, Mike asked Eddie what happened to Carl, another missing boy. Eddie explained that he, too, was in Candle Cove. When he tells all of this to Amy, she doesn't seem to believe it. But he soon explains that children will start behaving in violent ways. Of course, she was the one who found the violent kids earlier in the day.
After Marla covers up for Mike's claim that he killed his brother, Amy has no choice but to let him walk.
8. Daphne, running through the woods, comes across whose house?

Answer: Mrs. Booth's

When night falls, Tim finds himself still wandering the woods, having not returned to town when he fled the abandoned house. When he does, he finds himself lost in the trees, surrounded by the laughter of children and stalked by a mysterious figure in the distance.
Daphne, too, finds herself lost in the woods until she comes across a laneway leading to an old house on the edge of the forest. The house turns out to be Mrs. Booth's. Inside, Daphne explains everything to her, and Mrs. Booth recommends that she turn herself in because she can't live a life on the lam.
9. Daphne is killed with which of these?

Answer: A hook

Mrs. Booth leaves the room to grab drinks for herself and Daphne. She comes back with a tray of cocoa, and Daphne is a bit surprised, since it seems like it's for more than just the two of them. Mrs. Booth says it is, and suggests that she'll get something stronger for her because of her circumstances.

When she returns, she has a hook in her hand, and sneaking up behind Daphne, she tears into her throat and leaves her to bleed out on the dining room table. Bringing the cocoa to the living room, she asks the four children watching 'Candle Cove' where they left Tim's body.

She heads out into the woods to bury him later that night.
10. Amy receives a gift from an unknown person. What's in the wrapped box?

Answer: Mushrooms

Amy receives a wrapped gift in her office at the station, and when she opens it she's surprised to find mushrooms. There is no indication of who sent it.
In Westchester, New York, Mike's daughter, Lily, awakens from sleep to the sound of 'Candle Cove' playing on a television.
Marla dreams that she and Mike sleep at the Painter household, and that they don't hear as someone stalks through the hallways. Jacob walks closer to Mike's bed and Marla awakens to find that he's made of teeth.
When she screams and awakens from her nightmare, Mike heads into her room to see if everything is alright but finds himself distracted by a noise from outside. His daughter has arrived at the house. Somehow she's traveled more than four hundred miles to Iron Hills. Jacob watches from a second floor window as they reunite.
