Zach and Kendall decided to divorce, for the first time, and went to a secret getaway to finalize the divorce. While they were there, they realized that they truly loved each other. When we first saw Kendall, she was sleeping on the couch, dreaming about the night before that she spent with Zach.

Back in April of 2005, Jonathan went on a crime spree and held Lily, Kendall, and Greenlee captive in a cave. He planned to set off a bomb and, before the cave exploded, all three of the women Jonathan held captive escaped from the cave. Jonathan was presumed dead but turned up alive four months later, in August, when Ryan saw him at Erin's house in Canada (Erin was Ryan and Jonathan's sister).

It was revealed that the reason why Jonathan committed so many crimes was due to how he had a brain tumor. Jonathan's doctor removed the tumor and, as a result, Jonathan's speech was impaired and he acted "slow." Since Lily was autistic, she could relate to Jonathan and befriended him when he told her he had something in him that caused him to be bad and they took the bad out.

At the mall, Jonathan and Lily talked and he told a patron that Lily was so nice and how interesting it was that he nearly blew her up the prior April. The patron just looked befuddled.

JR went to Amanda's apartment to talk to Jamie about Babe (at this time, Jamie and Amanda dated) and Amanda told Jamie his loser brother was there. Jamie came out wearing nothing but underwear, which shocked JR. JR remarked that he wanted to be sure he just walked straight into a Tim Burton film and that what he saw was unreal.

Lily had Autism Spectrum Disorder and one of her biggest problems was the color red. The best way she could handle being around red was to wear sunglasses. Since she went Christmas shopping, in this showing, she wore sunglasses due to how the color of red is associated with Christmas and there was plenty of red where she went shopping.

Erica and Ryan wondered where Kendall had gone to since they feared she ran off, with Zach, and reunited with him rather than divorce him. They asked Simone, at Fusion, if Simone knew where Kendall was so they could possibly stop her from getting back together with Zach. Simone set Ryan and Erica's minds, at ease, when she told them that Kendall went to a secret island to finalize her divorce from Zach. Ryan and Erica were thrilled to hear this news.

Zach showed up, in Kendall's hotel room, and gave her a gift and asked her to open it. Kendall opened it and she found a piece of jewelry that had the shape of a dragonfly. Zach said that he heard the Devil used the dragonfly to get the bad out of peoples' souls.

Jamie was peeved, at JR, for continuing to stay at his and Amanda's apartment and informed him to hurry up with his business since he had to get to his molecular biology class. Jamie wanted to be like his grandfather (Joe) and his uncles (Jeff and Jake) and become a doctor so he began medical school, at this time. Jamie told JR that he knew of Amanda's mental instability and was keeping an eye on her in case she tried to harm him. JR told Jamie good luck since he would need it.

Babe went to visit Josh at the New Beginnings office and they started to chat. Amanda (who was Josh's assistant, at the time) came in and she and Babe got into a verbal fight. Josh stopped the fight when he told Amanda to get him some coffee. Babe asked Josh if he knew what he was in for with hiring Amanda but Josh told Babe he was aware of how vicious and scheming Amanda was.

He also informed Babe that he planned to take down Erica.

In the middle of the episode, Zach's lawyer came to Kendall's hotel room to discuss her divorce from Zach. The lawyer saw that the two still loved each other and explained to them that this would not look good, to a judge, and they could be accused of fraud.

After the lawyer left, Zach made it clear, to Kendall, that he did not want a divorce and changed his mind. Kendall told Zach she wanted it so he decided to go through with the divorce.

Zach and Kendall were preparing to go to the courthouse and finalize their divorce. Before they went, Kendall told Zach not to go since she told him he was the best husband she ever had and that she did not want their marriage to end that way. As they talked, Ryan entered their hotel room and interrupted their conversation.
