quiz
Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "West Wing" episode 122: "The Ticket". When does the first scene of this season opener take place?

Answer: 3 years into the future

Jed Bartlet is attending an opening of a new presidential library, being named in his honour. CJ and Danny are married and have a new child. The new President arrives, but we only see his legs, so we can't tell who it is.
2. "West Wing" episode 123: "The Mommy Problem". Santos and Josh debate the merits of him undertaking his military reserve training during a Presidential campaign. Does he end up deciding to go through with it?

Answer: Yes

Santos decides that he should undertake the training given how many times he's postponed in the past. It also ends up being a very good move in terms of the positive media response he gets.
3. "West Wing" episode 124: "Message of the Week". Why is Sentor Vinick forced to reach a compromise with the right wing of his party?

Answer: His pro-choice stance

Vinick comes under fire from VP candidate Ray Sullivan, who wants reassurance that his issues will be considered if Vinick takes decisions on judges once in the White House.
4. "West Wing" episode 125: "Mr Frost". Who confesses to leaking the information to the press about the US having a military space shuttle?

Answer: Toby

With the investigation into the leak well underway, Toby decides it is well and truly time to confess. CJ is, needless to say, shocked and disappointed that he was the culprit.
5. "West Wing" episode 126: "Here Today". How does Bartlet react when he finds out who leaked the information about the military space shuttle?

Answer: He fires them

Bartlet feels he has no choice but to fire Toby, who had offered to resign. Meanwhile, Josh and Matt Santos make the tough decision to let go some of their less experienced staffers when they continue to fall behind on polls.
6. "West Wing" episode 127: "The Al Smith Dinner". Both Presidential candidates struggle with whether or not to go to a traditional dinner. Who ends up going along?

Answer: Both of them

Both feel obliged to go, despite their reservations about their pro-choice stances potentially coming up in this public occasion. Meanwhile, Will takes over Toby's job and moves into his office.
7. "West Wing" episode 128: "The Debate". To give it an authentic look and feel, the debate episode was filmed live to air.

Answer: True

In fact it was filmed live twice; once for the East Coast audience and once for the West. It is also the first time that no-one from the original season 1 cast appeared in an episode (although some were credited).
8. "West Wing" episode 129: "Undecideds". What issue made a shooting of a child by a policeman even more challenging for Matt Santos?

Answer: The shooter was Latino

Santos made the difficult decision to appear in church to address the child's family and congregation. His passionate speech was well-received.
9. "West Wing" episode 130: "The Wedding". Which Bartlet daughter had her wedding at the White House in this episode?

Answer: Ellie

Bartlet is dealing with an international crisis between China and Kazakhstan in this episode, and as a result almost misses the chance to walk Ellie down the aisle. Ellie appears in several "West Wing" episodes, including one that bears her name, where we learn she is a medical student.
10. "West Wing" episode 131: "Running Mates". Which candidate is having trouble with his debate preparation in this episode?

Answer: Leo McGarry

McGarry is struggling with how to approach the VP debate, and his manager, Annabeth, is very concerned. This was the first episode to air after the death of John Spencer, who played Leo McGarry.
