Answer: Jefferson and Adams

Zoey had already commented to Charlie that her father loved the story of Jefferson and Adams dying within hours of each other in 1826. When Senator Adair proceeded to recount the story in lengthy detail, Jed found it difficult not to look totally bored and made an excuse to leave.
2. A young pianist wanted to defect the United States. What country was he from?

Answer: North Korea

Jai Yung Ahn indicated his wish to defect on a CD which he gave to the President. Despite CJ's arguments that they ought to let him to defect, the President would not allow it. He explained to Ahn that his defection would destroy the secret negotiations that were going on with North Korea about nuclear weapons.
3. What was the name of the Idaho Senator who resigned from the Democratic Party because of Josh's actions?

Answer: Chris Carrick

Democrat Senator Chris Carrick was holding out for a missile launcher to be built in his state which had been promised to him by the previous administration. Josh leaked to the Idaho press that the Senator was blocking the military promotions. As a result Carrick resigned from the Democratic party. Josh was shocked because he knew that the Democrats could not win back the Senate without Idaho and that the blame would fall on him.

Answer: Oklahoma

The President decided to visit the devastated area. Although he was scheduled to be back in Washington by three o'clock, he insisted on staying for a memorial service the following morning. Finally CJ convinced him that he had to return to Washington to get on with running the country.

The Drug Enforcement Agency had revoked the licences of medical practitioners in Oregon who gave drugs to assist suicides. The Attorney General was backing the DEA, despite the fact that Oregon allowed euthanasia. Toby discovered that Fisk was feeding the information to the media in Mississippi (where he intended standing for Governor). Jed told him that the Federal Government could not intervene in this matter and threatened to fire Fisk if he continued.

Answer: Newman

They met while flying out to past President Lassiter's funeral and discussed a situation which had arisen in Saudi Arabia where there were protesters demanding free speech and popular elections. Newman criticised Bartlet for continuing to support the royal family there.

Answer: Meeshal Anders

Charlie met Meeshal at a New Year party and started dating her. He gave her a 'tour' of the White House and at the end of the tour, Meeshal admitted that she was going to join the Press Corps there. Charlie was shocked and started to panic that he had been indiscreet. Later, when Meeshal came to his office, he greeted her coolly as 'Ms Anders' and she slapped his face - just as the President came out of the Oval Office.

Answer: Ken O'Neal

Ken had saved Leo's life by refusing to leave him in the jungle when their plane was shot down. When Ken's aeronautics company came under suspicion for paying bribes to secure military contracts, Leo remained loyal to him and refused to believe that Ken could have done anything dishonest. However, when Ken admitted that the accusations were true, Leo was devastated.

Answer: Evelyn Baker Lang

Bradford Shelton seemed to be the acceptable middle-of-the-road candidate for the vacant seat. However Josh was impressed with the very liberal Evelyn Baker Lang. As she was unlikely to be accepted by the Judiciary Committee, Josh came up with the idea of getting the Chief Justice to retire and putting Evelyn Lang in his position, and then finding someone acceptable to fill the vacant seat.

As a result the President nominated Lang as the next Chief Justice, and the very conservative Chris Mulready for the vacant seat.
10. What was the name of Admiral Fitzwallace's wife?

Answer: Gail

After Fitzwallace was killed in the car bomb attack in Gaza, the President and Kate went to visit his wife to offer their condolences. Jed promised that her that the people reponsible would be brought to justice. However Gail replied "Don't promise that, I know the world". (NB Gail also appeared briefly in the first episode of season 6 at the Admiral's funeral.)
