1. Mr. Adams and Eve
Answer: Howard Duff
This series, that ran in CBS in the 1957-58 season, focused on characters Howard Adams (Howard Duff) and his wife, Eve (Ida Lupino) who were movie stars. In reality, Duff and Lupino WERE married AND movie stars. Many of the show's plots were loosely based on their lives. Duff appeared in mainly western and detective genre movies and guest starred in many TV shows.
Some of his movies include "The Naked City", "Red Canyon" and "Flame of the Islands". He passed away in 1990 at age 76.
2. Mr. Garlund
Answer: Charles Quinlivan
Charles Quinlivan played wealthy business tycoon, Frank Garlund, in the 1960-61 series. His business dealings always led him into adventure and intrigue. His only confidant was his foster brother Kam Chang (Kam Tong). Not a very well-remembered actor, likely due to his relatively short life, passing in 1974 at age 50. Quinlivan only worked in a handful of movies and guest starred in several TV shows.
Some of his movies were "Zero Hour!", "All the Young Men" and "Airport 1975".
3. Mr. Novak

John Novak was a high school English teacher who often came into conflict with the school administration while trying to instruct his students. The show had a large cast of supporting characters playing school faculty and staff. Handsome James Franciscus played the dedicated teacher and also starred mainly in action/adventure movies.
Some of his credits include "I Passed for White", "Youngblood Hawke" and "Beneath the Planet of the Apes". He passed away in 1991 at age 57.
4. Mr. President

Scott, a prolific Broadway and Oscar-winning movie actor, dabbled in TV on several occasions. His first series was "East Side/West Side" in which he played a social worker, but it was not well-received. Twenty three years later he returned to TV with "Mr. President" that focused on the private life of America's Chief Executive.
This show also did not click and only ran in the 1987-88 season. Just a few of his motion pictures are "Anatomy of a Murder", "Patton" and "The Hindenburg". He passed at age 71 in 1999.
5. Mr. Belvedere

"Mr. Belvedere" was a four-season sit-com (1985-89) that was based on the 1949 Clifton Webb vehicle "Mr. Belvedere Goes to College". In the TV show, Belvedere is a housekeeper and au pair for the Owen family - a working couple with three lively children.
His dignified approach to his job played against the rambunctious activities of the children provided much of the humor. Hewett, an English born actor, worked in a few movies - "The Producers" and "The Lavender Hill Mob" were two of them. He had a more prolific career doing guest appearances dozens of TV shows.
He passed away at age 80 in 2001.
6. Mr. Terrific

Stanley Beamish (Stephen Strimpell) was a nerdy gas station attendant that had a secret life - he worked for the government as a superhero secret agent, Mr. Terrific, with the help of special power pills developed by the Bureau of Secret Projects. There was a catch - the pills only worked on Beamish and only gave him super powers for one hour in which he brought criminals to justice.
In the oft chance he needed more time, he could take another pill as a booster for an extra 20 minutes of power. Besides the TV show, he also appeared in a handful of movies including "Fitzwilly", "All That Jazz" and his final film "Seize the Day".
He passed in 2006 at age 72.
7. Mr. Lucky

Mr. Lucky was a the proprietor of a floating casino aboard his yacht "Fortuna". Of course he met many interesting people that used his facilities which inevitably involved him and his right-hand man, Andamo (Ross Martin), in may adventures. The TV show which ran in the 1959-60 season, was based on a popular movie starring Cary Grant, to whom John Vivyan bore a striking resemblance.
His acting career featured appearances in a few movies, but mainly guest roles in many TV shows. He passed at age 68 in 1983.
8. Mr. Peepers
Answer: Wally Cox
Robinson Peepers was a meek, unassertive high school science teacher who was constantly flustered by incidents in his job or in personal matters. A fellow teacher, Harvey Weskit was played by veteran actor Tony Randall and Peepers' love interest was the school nurse, Nancy Remington (Patricia Benoit). Cox gained exposure when he appeared on "Arthur Godfrey's Talent Scouts" which quickly led to acting roles on dozens of TV shows, including providing the voice for cartoon superhero Underdog, and even a few commercials.
He was only 48 when he was struck down by a heart attack in 1973.
9. Mr. Deeds Goes to Town

"MDGTT" was loosely based on the 1936 movie starring Gary Cooper. Monte Markham played Longfellow Deeds, a small town newspaper editor who suddenly inherits his uncle's prosperous business. He moves to New York to oversee operations where he attempts to reverse the results of the shady practices which his uncle used.
This series only ran in the 1969-70 season. Markham also starred in the TV show "The Second Hundred Years" and guested in several other series. He also performed on stage and in the movies "Guns of the Magnificent Seven", "Midway" and "Airport 77".
10. Mr. Roberts
Answer: Roger Smith
Another movie that reached the small screen was "Mr. Roberts" based on the 1948 movie with Henry Fonda in the title role. In the TV version, Roger Smith had the unenviable duty of trying to fill Fonda's acting shoes, which is perhaps why the series only ran one season (1965-66). Smith had previously appeared as Jeff Spencer, a private eye, in the TV show "77 Sunset Strip".
As well as acting, he also produced several movies and managed the career of his wife, Ann-Margret. He passed away in 2017 at age 84.
