According to the game's backstory, Pandora has an orbit of ten Earth years, with seven Earth years of winter followed by three Earth years of summer. Pandora was originally settled during a winter period by the Atlas Corporation. When summer came and the hostile creatures awakened from hibernation, things did not work out well for the original colonists.

Answer: Skags

Several skags are named in the game, such as Scar, Moe, Marley, and Skagzilla. Some are even (mostly) domesticated as pets, such as Pinky and Digit, the pets of Nine-Toes, an enemy boss in the early part of the game, and Crazy Earl's pet Skrappy.

Eridian weapons use a binary number as their naming schematic, resulting in weapons such as the "11011 Eridian Lightning". While the "unlimited" ammunition seems like an attractive option, the time to recharge the weapon can be a limitation. Certain weapons, skills, and class mods can be utilized to regenerate ammunition for non-Eridian weapons.

Answer: New-U Stations

Supplied by Hyperion, the New-U respawns cost 7% of your character's wealth, though this fee is waived for those who are too poor to afford it. This can be a disadvantage early in the game, but in the later part of the adventure your character will have so much wealth that the counter won't even register the cost.

The New-U Stations come in two types. Minor stations are simple respawn points and are more numerous than the interactive stations, where players can change their character name or colors, reset skill points (for a fee), and access the Fast Travel Network.

Answer: Claptrap Rescue

Playing and replaying the game and all four downloadable content packs can gain the player up to 20 Backpack SDUs (some are more random than others), expanding the number of item slots from 12 to 72.

If that's not enough, the Bank that is part of the "Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot" add-on can hold additional items - for a price.

Answer: Deep Fathoms

Deep Fathoms is an area in "The Secret Armory of General Knoxx" add-on that consists of a dry lake bed and crumbling roads.

Treacher's Landing is an island surrounded by water, and is where players can earn the "You're on a boat!" achievement/trophy. There is a secret "Easter Egg" where you get this achievement - shoot the nearby barrels in a specific order (yellow, green, blue, red) and get treated to an unusual show on the water.

Answer: Occupied by the Crimson Lance

The players do visit Old Haven, one of the largest urban environments in the game. One of the missions there is to shut down the smoke signals they are using to trick bandits to come to the city where the Crimson Lance can ambush them.

In "The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned" add-on, players return to Old Haven, now known as Dead Haven because it is overrun by zombies.

Answer: Lancer

The four seating positions for players in the Lancer are driver, gunner, mine layer and blast seat. Lancers do appear in the original "Borderlands" storyline. In the Crimson Fastness area, they appear as non-interactive prop objects.

Answer: A monster

The Destroyer is a huge, god-like other-dimensional monster locked in the Vault. Only a portion of the beast, including an eye, mouth, and tentacles, emerge from the Vault to combat the players.

And, yes, if the point of the game is to open something on a planet named Pandora, you don't need to be a scholar in Greek mythology to expect something bad to happen.

Answer: Crawmerax

"Crawmerax the Invincible" is a huge adult Crab Worm that is killed by damaging its (conveniently glowing purple) weak spots. It's not an easy battle, thanks to the Armored Craw Worms, Craw Maggots, and Green Craw Worms surrounding the boss, but it can be done quickly by an experienced and properly equipped player (or players). Crawmerax can sometimes drop Pearlescent gear, which are the rarest items in the game.
