Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. How many cool points do you need to play a bonus game on the "Hard" setting?

Answer: 95

If you collect 95 out of 100 cool points in a level, you will enter a special bonus game. The bonus is inside a giant bottle of 7-Up. It takes only 85 cool points on "Normal" and 75 on "Easy".
2. In the bonus levels, you collect letters which can be traded for extra lives. What do these letters spell?

Answer: UnCola

"UnCola" used to be the motto of the 7-Up company. Back in 1993, you could receive a prize if you finished the game on the "Hard" setting and found all six bonus letters. I have no idea what the prize was, seeing as I never could and still haven't finished the game on "Hard".
3. Which level has no enemies?

Answer: Radical Rails

Radical Rails is almost like a bonus level. In this level you can find cool points easily and there are no enemies to harm you. Cool Spot just has to avoid being sucked into the vacuum tubes. The level Wading Around has no enemies on the "Easy" setting, but Radical Rails has no enemies on "Easy", "Normal", or "Hard".
4. Which level is set on a train?

Answer: Loco Motive

In this level, Spot must collect cool points from a speeding toy train. Then he has to climb across giant stuffed dolls hanging from the ceiling to reach his caged friend at the top. This level will make you dizzy if you watch the toys going by in the background!
5. How many beach levels are in the game?

Answer: 2

Both the first and last levels are a race across a beach, where the only other tourists are nasty lobsters and sand gnats. These two levels are Shell Shock and Surf Patrol.
6. Can Cool Spot swim?

Answer: No

If he lands in the water in Wading Around, Spot will sink right to the bottom, and you must restart the level.
7. How many bonus levels have no enemies?

Answer: 2

The first two bonus levels are very easy. It is not hard to find all 100 cool points and have a good score. However, once you reach the third bonus level, be careful. The last four bonuses are full of sharp mines. Although you can destroy the mines if you land on them, they can destroy you just as easily.
8. Which of these is not an enemy in Pier Pressure?

Answer: Spiders

You won't find any spiders until you reach the third level, Off Da Wall. The "Easy" setting does not have any worms or oysters, but "Normal" and "Hard" settings are full of them. Bees are in all three difficulty settings. The worms are crawling up almost every rope. Oysters will jump and spit pearls at you. Do not confuse Pier Pressure with Dock and Roll.

In Dock and Roll, you will find bees, worms, and oysters in all three settings.
9. Where will you find electric bolts jumping across the floor?

Answer: Back to the Wall

The electric bolts are not in the "Easy" setting, but if you are playing the game on "Normal" or "Hard", they will zap you when you least expect it. Back to the Wall is much more difficult than the first wall level, Off Da Wall.
10. At the first of the game, what is Cool Spot using as a surf board?

Answer: 7-Up Bottle

Before you go to the game options, you will see Spot riding the waves on a bottle of 7-Up. You can also hear the classic beach song "Wipe Out" in the background.
