Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What are the requirements for becoming a fighter?

Answer: Human, Soldier A-ability x2

The Fighter job class is only available to Humans who have mastered at least two Soldier action abilities. Paladin is another Human job unlocked by mastering two Soldier action abilities. The Warrior job for Bangaas is similar to the Soldier job for Humans, but mastering two warrior abilities unlocks the Bangaa Defender, Dragoon and Gladiator classes rather than the Human Fighter and Paladin classes.
2. Which jobs can learn an ability that can inflict the "stop" status effect on opponents?

Answer: Gunner, Assasin, Blue Mage

This was a tricky one. Blue Mages can learn the Hastebreak ability from coeurls. Hastebreak normally only slows the target, but will stop them if they have the "haste" status enhancement. The other classes that can inflict "stop" are: Time Mages (using the "Stop" spell), Assasins (Shadowbind), Gunners (Stopshot) and Jugglers (Ring). Additionally, Babus's "Stillness" ability is an area effect "stop" spell and Cid's "Abate" ability will stop the judge.
3. Mastering which of these combinations of abilities will unlock the Elementalist class for a Viera?

Answer: the Fencer ability "Checkmate" and the Red Mage ability "Cure"

Sorry. Another tricky one. The Elementalist job class requires mastering one Fencer action ability and one White Mage action ability. The "Cure" ability can be learned by both White Mages and Red Mages, and mastering the ability while in one of these jobs will cause you to master it in the other.

In other words, if you learn "Cure" as a Red Mage, it is also listed in with your White Magic abilities and can be used to satisfy the requirement for becoming an Elementalist. It would be silly for them to make you learn "Cure" twice! The spell "Cure" is the only ability that can be used by two different classes of the same race, so this is the only skill that, once mastered, counts for two different jobs.
4. What is Babus's job title?

Answer: Runeseeker

Although Babus knows "Quarter" and "Demi," two Time Mage abilities, and "Stillness," which inflicts "stop," he is not a Time Mage. Biskmatar is Llednar's class.
5. Which job has abilities which inflict the "confused," "slow," and "immobilized" status effects on enemies?

Answer: Ninja

Ninjas inflict these status effects sing, respectively, the "Fire Veil," "Earth Veil" and "Wood Veil" abilities. Elementalists can also inflict these statuses, using the "Evil Gaze," "Sliprain" and "Heavy Dust" abilities.
6. Which job classes can wield Greatswords?

Answer: Soldiers and Paladins

It can be easy to mix up the many kinds of swords. Knight Swords can be used by Paladins, Defenders and Templars and Broadswords can be used by the Warrior and Defender classes. The only weapons that can be used by both Soldiers and Warriors are simply calles "Swords" and can also be used by Dragoons.
7. Which of these classes can use shields without having the "Shieldbearer" ability equipped?

Answer: Fencers, Sages and Mog Knights

The only jobs capable of using a shield without having "Shieldbearer" equipped are Soldiers, Paladins, Warriors, Sages, Fencers and Mog Knights. Some shields teach various classes "Shieldbearer," a support ability which, when equipped allows the unit to use a shield no matter what job they are.
8. For a Viera to become an Assasin, how many jobs she must master an ability in?

Answer: 5

To become an assasin, a Viera must master one Sniper action ability and two Elementalist action abilities. However, to become an Elementalist, she must master one Fencer and one White Mage action ability and to become a Sniper, she must master two Archer action abilities.

Therefore, to become an Assasin, a Viera must have been a Fencer, an Archer, a White Mage, an Elementalist and a Sniper. Whew! After all of that training and job switching, you can finally enjoy the best Viera class in the game! Congratulations!
9. Which job class learns the "Aim: Vitals" ability?

Answer: Hunter

Archers, Snipers and Assasins all learn abilities with "aim" in their names, but only Hunters get this one. "Aim: Vitals" inflicts a random status ailment on the opponent.
10. White Monks cannot wear any armor on their heads.

Answer: True

Monks are the only job that cannot wear anything on their heads. Take advantage of the extra equipment slot to equip an extra accessory, or turn your Monk into a Warrior long enough for him to learn "Shieldbearer" so that you can fill the empty slot with a shield.
