You have to circle around behind the Pokémon and scare it. Every time you 'talk' to it, it will run away in the opposite direction. Once it's back with its owner, the Charcoal Smith will be there and he'll give you HM01 (Cut) for your troubles.

Answer: Pokémon Daycare

When two Pokémon of the opposite gender are left together at the daycare, they may produce an egg if they are similar (i.e. two dog-like Pokémon, or two bird-like Pokémon). This way you can get duplicates of you favorite non-legendary Pokémon. This is also the way to get baby Pokémon, cute, smaller versions or their parents, and this is the only place to get them.

A nice Pokémon is Ditto. It has no gender, and therefore, can substitute for either, and it can mate with any non-legendary Pokémon. You can't get more legendary Pokémon.

Answer: Volunteer to advertise

The Bike Shop is nestled deep in the south/east side of Goldenrod City. Once you find it, the owner will explain how he moved from Cerulean City, but no one can find his shop and business is going way down. Grab a bike and ride it around for a while. He'll call you eventually, saying that business is booming and that you can keep the bike.

Answer: Yes or No

It's a small five-question quiz. Some of the questions should have been True or False style, but they weren't. Anyways, get all five questions right and you'll recieve a radio card. If you don't make it the first time, just try again. You can take the quiz as many times as you want until you get it right; there is no limit on how many times you can take it per day. Once you have the radio card, you can tune into different radio stations such as the Lucky Number Show.

Answer: Clefairy

You have to circle the giant Clefairy until you get to the 'tail' where you can enter the center of the gym where Whitney awaits you. Once you beat her, she'll start to cry and won't hand over the badge. As you try to leave, a girl will tell you that Whitney is just a little upset and would be OK in a second. Talk to Whitney again and you'll have your badge.

Answer: Roulette

You can buy things here like TM's and Dolls using special coins. To hold these coins, you'll need a coin case, which can be found in the underground portion or the city. You can play the Slot Machines, a reflex tester, or the Card Flip (which is a guessing game). There is no Roulette in the "Gold" and "Silver" games, but there is in the "Ruby" and "Sapphire" ones.

Answer: Bug Catching

In this contest, you have twenty minutes and a bunch of special balls. When either runs out, the contest is over. You can only take one Pokémon into the contest with you and may only hold one of your caught bug-Pokémon at a time, which means if you want to grab a better bug, you'll have to drop your current one. Once the contest is over, you could win a Sun stone, an Ever stone, or a Gold Berry, depending on which place you come in. Anything below that, you get nothing but the Pokémon you captured.

Answer: Use the Squirtbottle

After you have the Normal Badge, the lady in one of the houses in the north part of Goldenrod will give you the Squirtbottle to use on the tree. When you water the 'tree', it will attack you. This is Sudowoodo, the only pure rock Pokémon, and there's only one of them in the game; here.

Answer: Defeat all five dancers (trainers) on the stage

Go into the Dance Hall and get up on stage. There you will have to face five opponents, each with a different Eevee evolution. Beat them all and walk back off. Talk to the man in the middle of the room, who will praise you for your beauty on the stage, and will reward you with HM03.

Answer: Setting free the three Legendary Pokémon

As you approach the three statues at the top of the room (B1) they will animate and hop away. Now you can find the three legendary Pokémon: Raikou, Entei, and Suicune. Apart from that, here you can catch a Magmar, and a Koffing, as well as pick up some items scattered around.

Answer: Invisible Floors

If you misstep, you'll 'fall' back to the beginning. The walkway is set up so you walk in front of, and battle, every trainer in the gym.

Answer: Miltank

Feed the sick Miltank in the barn until it becomes totally healthy. After that you can buy Moomoo Milk from this farm, which is much better than you average potion, and it costs the same.

Answer: Buy Moomoo Milk

You don't need the Voltorb, but you will need the Good Rod and Strength. You can get both of these just by talking to the people who have them. They'll hand them over without any requirements or questions, and because you can't decline after you've started talking, you might as well make use of them.

Answer: Jasmine

The main thing you'll want to do in Olivine City is visit the Lighthouse. There, Jasmine will tell you that the Pokémon that lights up the sea is sick. She'll tell you to go to Cianwood City where you can find a pharmacist.

Answer: Shuckle

Your Rival is the thief at work here; he stole the guy's first Pokémon. Make sure you have room in you party if you want this Pokémon, but you can always just go north of town and smash open the rocks there. Some will have a Shuckle beneath them.
