To see the speed you're going in a train, you must start the freight missions by pressing the R3 button. Once you start the missions, a 2-digit number will appear on the screen. This is your train speed. If you continue accelerating to about 48 or 50, your controller will begin to vibrate. If you ignore this and continue accelerating, eventually your train will derail.

This happens much faster if you're coming around a sharp turn on the tracks. I was once able to reach a speed of 64 on a straight track, but then, all of a sudden, I flew off the tracks into the middle of a street where chaos ensued. Sometimes it's fun to just derail your train and roll into lakes and down hills, but be careful if you don't want this to happen. If your controller vibrates, be sure you slow down.

Here is an excerpt from "Tricks & Tips" video game magazine. This is an interview with a lead level designer from "San Andreas".


Tips & Tricks: "What's up with the widespread rumors of bigfoot sightings in the game ("San Andreas")...is there any truth to them?"

Craig Filshie (Lead Level Designer): "Not a bit. If you'll look closely, you'll notice that all of the screenshots (of bigfoot) are typically retouched versions of screenshots we created for magazines and Web sites before the game was released."


In another interview, a Rockstar representative stated that the company enjoyed following all of the forum discussions about bigfoot, and they really liked to see where they led. They also said that the rumors were actually a good thing because some people bought the game just to look for bigfoot, and it adds a lot of replay value to the game.

Julio G. is the DJ for "Radio Los Santos", Fourth Right MC is the DJ for "Playback", the Funktipus is the DJ for "Bounce FM" and Lazlow is a talk-show host on "WCTR". You may remember Lazlow from "Grand Theft Auto III", where he had his own talk radio station; "Chatterbox". You may also remember him from "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City", where he was the DJ for "VRock".

Anyway, about Julio G. He often says his name between songs on "Radio Los Santos", and you can find all the DJ's names in the "San Andreas" instruction manual. If you listen to "Radio Los Santos" after you meet and start dating Denise, you may hear her call in to Julio G. and whine about missing you and never dating her. In fact, even if you kill her, you will still hear her call in now and then.

Binco and Zip clothing stores can be found all over the state. Didier Sachs, on the other hand, has only one location; western Los Santos. Don't try to get in there until you're near the end of the story missions either. It only opens near the end of the game. Those clothes are expensive in there, so be sure you bring a lot of cash.

There is no Rafael's clothing store in "San Andreas". That was only in "Vice City" and you couldn't even go inside. You would walk up to the entrance, the screen would go blank for a second, and you'd appear with the one outfit they sold there. What kind of clothing store only sells one outfit?

There are 3 major airports in "San Andreas". Find the yellow marker outside of each airport to catch a flight to any city in the game. If you don't feel like paying $500, go and steal a plane of your own. If you haven't gotten your pilot's license yet, go to the Los Santos airport and find the entrance to the runways. Run up to the booth containing the guy who refuses you access and climb on top of it. Now you can hop the fence and you have access to two planes. The Shamal and the Dodo.

Juank Air: "Flying With the Personal Touch"

In the final mission of "San Andreas", you break into Big Smoke's crack fortress with a SWAT tank, and then you take him down in a firefight in the dark. This might be the last story mission in the game, but there are tons of side missions and collecting to do.

All of the motorcycles from "Vice City" are back in "San Andreas", except for the Angel. That includes the Sanchez, Pizzaboy, PCJ-600, Faggio and Freeway. The Angel, similar to the Freeway, did not make a return. The Angel was known for its patriotic design; Red and white stripes, and a blue body.

It didn't have very good speed and handling, though, and since it was so similar to the Freeway, it was not brought back in "San Andreas". In its place came the BF-400, FCR-900, NRG-500, the HPV1000 and the Wayfarer.

During the final missions of the game, there is complete chaos in Los Santos. People are killing each other, street lights are flickering, houses are smoking and burning, robberies are going on, and if you go to a really quiet area, like the top of a tall building, you can hear all the rioting and shouting in the distance. It's pretty cool to listen to all of those sounds.
