When Sweet phones his brother to inform him that their mother was killed in a drive-by shooting, he is phoning minutes after the killing took place. This scene can be viewed in "The Introduction".

2. There are several clues early on in the games storyline that hint to Big Smoke's betrayal and allegiance to the Ballas. Which two are clues?

Answer: Him moving out of Grove St. and not shooting any of the Ballas in the drive-by; instead he was eating food from Cluckin' Bell

He claims he moved out of Grove Street after receiving money from an "aunt" and subsequently bought a nicer house. In the mission "Drive-By" after CJ, Sweet, Ryder and Big Smoke all ordered food from Cluckin' Bell they engage in a drive-by against the Ballas. Big Smoke never shoots at them, instead he eats all the food "claiming it isn't right to let food go to waste" when really he isn't shooting the Ballas because he is aligned with them.
