Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is a Halo?

Answer: A ring of sentient destruction.

Halo is a ring that, when activated, destroys all sentient life in the galaxy. These rings were built by an ancient race called the Forerunners in order to stop the spread of the parasite (flood) if they were ever unleashed.
2. What is the main objective in "Halo 3"?

Answer: Stop the Prophet of Truth

In order to finish the fight, the Chief needs to stop the Prophet from activating the halo. All other objectives are secondary because if the Prophet activates the ring, the galaxy will be destroyed of all sentient life.
3. In the single player campaign, players may play as the Arbiter.

Answer: False

In "Halo 2", single players were able to play as the arbiter (an ostracized elite) in every other mission. In "Halo 3", the Arbiter fights alongside the Master Chief, but you may not actually play as him. If two players play the campaign together, then the second player plays as the Arbiter, but the campaign otherwise is centered around the Master Chief.
4. Which of the following is NOT an enemy in "Halo 3"?

Answer: Elites

At the end of "Halo 2", the Arbiter convinced all the elites that the prophets were lying and that activating the rings would not usher them into a great journey. The elites now fight alongside the humans to save the galaxy from the ignition of the halos.
5. Which of the following is NOT true of "Halo 3"?

Answer: Players may dual-wield needlers

In "Halo 2", dual-wielding was introduced and players were able to dual-wield needlers among certain other weapons. This changed in "Halo 3", now players may only use one needler at a time, but other weapons may still be dual-wielded.
6. Who does the Master Chief need to save near the end of the campaign?

Answer: Cortana

Cortana is a highly advanced Artificial Intelligence that was lost during "Halo 2". Master Chief promises to get her back before leaving her at the end of "Halo 2". She has been captured by the Gravemind, a massive body of flood.
7. Which of the following is a new weapon in "Halo 3"?

Answer: Spiker

The Brute Spiker is one of many new weapons featured in "Halo 3". The Assault Rifle was introduced in the original "Halo". The Brute Shot and the Fuel Rod Cannon were introduced in "Halo 2".
8. Which of the following refers to the Master Chief?

Answer: Sierra 117

The Master Chief is called Sierra 117 throughout the campaign in "Halo 3" only by his human superiors. Elites call him "Spartan" and his enemies (Brutes, grunts, etc...) call him "Demon". Sierra 117 or Spartan 117 is a code name which is used to identify him. During level "The Storm", Lord Hood asks about Sierra 117 and Miranda Keyes says "Moving as fast as he can sir. I know he'll get it done".
9. Skulls, introuduced in "Halo 2", can be found during the campaign, one on each level, which tweak gameplay. Which of the following is NOT a skull that can be found in "Halo 3"?

Answer: Quake

IWHBYD is a silver skull that can be found near the end of the campaign. Famine and Black Eye are gold skulls that when found unlock achievements. Skulls in general exist to provide interesting changes to "Halo 3" gameplay when activated. For example, when activated the Famine skull makes enemies drop 50% less ammunition.
10. What is the name of the ship that the Master Chief and the Arbiter use to escape in the last level?

Answer: Forward Unto Dawn

The Pillar of Autumn was the name of the ship that Master Chief destroyed in the original "Halo". The Shadow of Intent is a covenant carrier which aided the Master Chief with the defeat of the Prophet of Truth. High Charity is a huge covenant starship that was infested with the Flood and taken over by the Gravemind.
