Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The most basic of all weapon types, the Smith and Wesson .38 revolver is better thrown at the enemy than fired, but early in the game, even its low-damage bullets can kill an enemy after enough hits. How many different types of ammo can this weapon take?

Answer: 3

Almost all small arms in the game can take three kinds of ammo - Regular, Hollow-Point and Armor-Piercing. Armor-piercing is of course much more useful towards the end of the game. I still haven't figured out what the heck Hollow-Point is good for, except Bloodcats.
.38 Specials take ammo in "speed loader" clips rather than one bullet at a time. It is often best to sell the .38 and get ANYTHING else, since it is truly a rotten weapon.
2. Which of the following kinds of ammunition does NOT exist in the game?

Answer: MPAT

HE, AP, and HEAP are all kinds of ammo for the Rocket Rifle, the highest-damage rifle in the game. AP of course is used by any of the other rifles too.
MPAT is a "Multi-Purpose Anti-Tank" missile, which is normally fired by M1A1 battle tanks, and does not exist in the game.
3. Which of these is the most powerful weapon (in terms of damage value) that can take a Silencer attachment?

Answer: MAC-10

The MAC-10 is not the most powerful sub-machine gun by far, but it is the most powerful one that can fit a silencer. It does considerably more damage than an MP5K, and less damage than a Commando (which can't fit a silencer).
4. All Shotguns have the same range.

Answer: True

Yes, the M870, the SPAS-15 and the CAWS all have the same exact range (13). That doesn't make them less useful though, since at greater ranges you can use a Duckbill attachment to make your pellets align horizontally, increasing the chance to hit considerably.

The CAWS is a devastating weapon - at close range it can easily kill an enemy with a single blast to the head, and at longer range a three-round-burst will literally fill the air with pellets.
5. Jacketed Hollow Point rounds (called HP in the game) are generally only useful at the start of the game. However, later in the game they become useful against what specific kind of threat?

Answer: Bloodcats

The bloodcats have no armor, and shots of HP rounds can bring a cat down very quickly, even before you get the high-damage guns which could do the same job with AP rounds. That is, of course, assuming that the cat hasn't killed you first.
AFAIK tanks take little OR NO damage from HP rounds, and camouflaged enemies are often just as armored as non-camouflaged ones.
Crepitus are damaged equally by both types of ammo.
6. Chronologically, what would be the first weapon you encounter that has a 5/9 AP firing cost (5 for single, 9 for burst)?

Answer: AKSU-74

This quick sub-machine gun is also sub-par and tends to break down often. Like most Russian automatics in the game, it gets less damage on each shot, but makes up for it by high-speed and high-count burst fire.
7. Of the following 5/9 AP weapons, which one has both the longest range and highest damage?

Answer: FN-FAL

Yup it's the FAL, which fires to a 42 square range with 32 damage on impact. It carries less rounds than either of the AKs, but with its high statistics you'll seldom need that many bullets. And by the end of the game, 7.62mm NATO ammo is plentiful.
8. Which is the only variety of grenade that does not exist in 40mm form?

Answer: Mustard Gas

Mustard Gas is a killer in the game, provided the victim is not wearing his gas mask. It's impossible to tell which enemies have gas masks in their possession or on their face before using it, but until very late in the game you can usually use Mustard Gas to your advantage.
The Mustard Gas grenade does not exist in 40mm form in the original version of Jagged Alliance 2, but may exist in Unfinished Business or later versions.
9. Which weapon attachment can not be used on a Rocket Rifle?

Answer: Laser Scope

Of those listed above, it is the Laser Scope. In fact, The Rocket Rifle can't take half the attachments in the game (like extended barrel, bipod, etc.). It is considered to already have a Laser Scope installed, by the way.
10. My favourite weapon is incidentally also the heaviest bullet-shooting weapon in the game. Which one is it?

Answer: H&K 21

The H&K fires at 7/11 AP with a 6-bullet burst. It has immense range and damage. It weighs in excess of 10 pounds. Not something you want to put on a character with low strength!
