Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What's NOT true about how the save system works in the 3DS?

Answer: Link gets to keep his expendable items and rupees when restarting the cycle

The first thing you notice is that there are now three save slots instead of two. There were only two in the North American N64 version so players could quick save at owl statues. Speaking of which, you now need to interact with either owl or newly added quill statues to permanently save your progress as going back to the Dawn of the First day doesn't save your game until the end. I found that out the hard way. Link still loses all his expendable items, however.
2. In the "Majora's Mask" remake, players can now freely control the camera if they're playing it on a new 3DS. This can still be done on older 3DS models, but what accessory do players need?

Answer: Circle Pad Pro

The 3DS remake was made compatible with the Circle Pad Pro so people who couldn't pick up the newer model didn't feel left out. That was a good move because the new 3DS was difficult to find at launch, especially the Special Edition.
3. Who gives you the Bombers' Notebook after Link is able to go back to human form?

Answer: Happy Mask Salesman

This time, the Happy Mask Salesman will give you the notebook after returning to human form so you don't have to replay Jim's Hide and Seek game. Some words of caution when playing; they'll hide in different areas from the N64 counterpart and will disqualify Link if he uses Deku Nuts.
4. Where is the Termina Bank located in the 3DS remake?

Answer: South Clock Town

Naturally, players would warp to this statue a lot after collecting all the rupees they could carry to deposit them. This definitely saves some time when saving up 5000 rupees for the piece of heart from the bank teller.
5. Where is the Song of Soaring located in the 3DS remake?

Answer: Southern Swamp

The song is learned immediately after entering the Southern Swamp. This allows us to quick travel earlier than the N64 version.
6. What item is needed to get the Inn Key from Anju in the 3DS remake?

Answer: Goron Mask

In the Nintendo 64 version, Link could simply acquire the key by speaking to Anju between 1:50 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Easy peasy. In the 3DS remake however, Anju isn't fooled as easily and you'll need to disguise yourself as the Goron arriving later that afternoon.
7. What's different about Zora Link in the 3DS remake?

Answer: You need to hold R to dash underwater

This was one change I personally don't like. When you dash with R, it automatically activates your electric forcefield so you can only dash as long as you have magic. This made certain parts of the game like the Beaver Brothers race more difficult.
8. Which mini-game can you not get a piece of heart from in the 3DS remake?

Answer: Koume's Shooting Game

In the original version, you got a piece of heart from Koume's Shooting Game available after clearing the Woodfall Temple and you get an empty bottle from opening the grave on the third night in Ikana Graveyard. In the 3DS version, these items locations are switched.
9. Which boss fight underwent the least amount of changes?

Answer: Goht

All of the boss fights underwent some notable changes where you need to expose a huge eyeball for you to hit, but Goht underwent the least amount of change. For Odolwa, you need to transform into Deku Link and drop Deku Nuts onto his head, and then slash at the exposed eye. For Goht, all you need to do is ram into him enough times to expose his eye, then transform into Human Link and pelt the eyeball with arrows. Gyorg has a second phase where you need to trick him into swallowing mines to expose his eyeball. And finally, the Giant's Mask can only be obtained after defeating the first Twinmold by (you guessed it) shooting its exposed eyes then hitting its eyeball. And the fight as Giant Link is very different.
10. What's the key difference about the Oceanside Spider House in the 3DS version?

Answer: You can obtain the Giant's Wallet at any time

In the original Nintendo 64 version, you had to complete the Oceanside Spider House on the first day to get the Giant's Wallet that allowed Link to carry up to 500 Rupees. Otherwise, he's rewarded with 50 rupees on the second day and 20 rupees on the third day.
11. How many empty bottles can Link obtain in the 3DS remake?

Answer: Seven

IN the original N64 version, the Circus Leader's Mask could only be obtained after protecting Cremia's wagon of milk, which was the only place it had any use for, thus making it useless aside from the end of the game. In the 3DS remake, it's used in a side-quest between the three Gorman Brothers to obtain a seventh empty bottle.
12. Which of the following songs is different in the 3DS version from the original?

Answer: Song of Double Time

In the original N64 version, you could only skip ahead to either night of the current day or dawn of the next day, depending on whether it was day or night. In the remake, you can skip ahead to any hour of the current day.
13. Which of the following masks are in a completely different location in the 3DS remake?

Answer: Stone Mask

In the N64 version, Shiro was found in the fork in the road leading to Ikana Graveyard and Ikana Canyon itself at the base of the cliff. If Link uses the Lens of Truth, he can talk to him and give him a Red or Blue potion in exchange for the mask. In the 3DS version, Shiro is found in the Pirate's Fortress instead at the base of the tall ladder in the center hub.
14. What extra was added to the 3DS that wasn't in the original?

Answer: Fishing ponds

In the 3DS remake, there are two fishing ponds that Link can visit. One is next to the Swamp Shooting Gallery in the road that connects Termina Field and Southern Swamp. The other is located in Zora Cape near the cave of the Great Fairy. It's just a fun little diversion which doesn't give Link anything useful.
15. What was the significant change made to the Great Fairies in the 3DS version?

Answer: Two of them had their gifts swapped

In the original N64 version, the Woodfall Fairy and Snowhorn Fairy would give you a spin attack upgrade and double magic meter respectively. In the 3DS remake, you get the double magic meter from the Woodfall Fairy and the Spin Attack Upgrade from the Snowhorn Fairy.
