Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which of the following Pokemon, while not considered legendary, could you only catch one of per game when first introduced?

Answer: Sudowoodo

When first introduced in "Pokemon Gold/Silver", only one Sudowoodo could be gotten per game, as well as in "Pokemon Emerald". Other Pokemon similar to that are Lapras, Togepi, Castform, Rotom, Omanyte, Kabuto, Aerodactyl, Lileep, Anorith, Eevee and its evolutions, and all starter Pokemon, just to name a few.
2. While Moltres is found on Island One of the Sevii Islands in "Pokemon Fire Red/Leaf Green", where is Moltres found in the original "Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow"?

Answer: Victory Road

Moltres can also be snagged from Master Greevil in "Pokemon XD:Gale of Darkness". Zapdos is still found at the Power Plant and Articuno is still found in the Seafoam Islands, both of which can also be snagged from Master Greevil in "Pokemon XD:Gale of Darkness".
3. Which of the following legendary Pokemon, in at least one game up to "Pokemon Diamond/Pearl", will not flee when you encounter it (assuming that a blocking move or the ability Shadow Tag are not in effect)?

Answer: Suicune

In "Pokemon Crystal", Suicune does not run from you and gives you a good chance to catch it, although it runs along with Entei and Raikou in "Pokemon Gold/Silver". After seeing Mespirit at Lake Verity, it will roam Sinnoh and will run as soon as it can every time you encounter it. An animal icon will show up on your Poketch's marking map, making Mespirit easier to find. Latias and Latios roam free in Hoenn after you defeat the Elite Four, and encountering it once is pure luck.

After the first encounter, all fleeing Pokemon are in your Pokedex, making it easier to know if they are in the same route that you are walking in.
4. Which of the following Pokemon is NOT necessary to unlock the three Regi Pokemon, and subsequently Regigigas?

Answer: Nincada

In order to get Regigias, you must transfer Regirock, Regice, and Registeel from your "Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald" version into the Pal Park. In order to get Regirock, Regice, and Registeel, you must have a Relicanth in your first slot, a Wailord in your last, and a Pokemon that knows Dig when you visit an underwater Braille cave west of Pacficlodge Town.

While Nincada will learn Dig at Level 45 (or through the TM), Trapinch will also learn Dig at Level 41. Therefore, if, for some reason you got rid of the TM Dig, Nincada OR Trapinch can be used to get the Regi trio, making Nincada unnecessary to claim Regigigas, assuming you used another Pokemon that knows Dig. Since you need to see all 150 of the Sinnoh Dex Pokemon to access the Pal Park, and Nincada is not a Sinnoh Dex Pokemon, it can be utterly useless to claim Regigigas.
5. Lugia and Ho-oh can be found in both "Pokemon Gold" and "Pokemon Silver".

Answer: True

While you do not find both of them around the same time, the Rainbow Feather and Silver Feather are both received in both games, which can be used to access Ho-oh and Lugia, respectively. Lugia is Psychic/Flying while Ho-oh is Fire/Flying.
6. In "Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness", the Pokemon 'XD001' is supposed to be a shadow Pokemon unable to be purified. What legendary Pokemon is 'XD001'?

Answer: Lugia

While supposedly 'unpurifyable', Lugia can in fact be purified. In order to purify Lugia, you must have all nine of your purification chambers on maximum tempo, then place Lugia in one (regardless of if the other chambers are purifying Pokemon within them).

After purification, Lugia can then be traded to a GBA game, as can all purified Pokemon from "Pokemon Colosseum" and "Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness".
7. Which of the following Legendary Pokemon does NOT require you to beat the Elite Four before being able to see it in at least one game?

Answer: Palkia

Mewtwo requires the Elite Four to be beaten in "Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow" and "Pokemon Fire Red/Leaf Green" and Latias and Latios in "Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald". Palkia and its counterpart Dialga must be faced before the eighth gym on Mt. Coronet.
8. Which of the following legendary Pokemon are not at least part Dragon?

Answer: Azelf

Latios is Psychic/Dragon, Dialga is Steel/Dragon, and Rayquaza is Flying/Dragon. Azelf is only Psychic. Other Dragon type legendaries include Latias (Psychic/Dragon), Palkia (Water/Dragon), and Giratina (Ghost/Dragon).
9. Which of the following 'trio' Pokemon are all of the EXACT same type(s)?

Answer: Uxie, Mespirit, and Azelf

Uxie, Mespirit and Azelf are all Psychic type Pokemon. While Articuno, Moltres, and Zapdos are all Flying, Articuno is also Ice, Moltres is also Fire, and Zapdos is also Electric, not making them all the EXACT same types. Regice is Ice type, Regirock is Rock, Registeel is Steel, Suicune is Water, Entei is Fire, and Raikou is Electric.
10. Groudon and Kyogre, found in the Cave of Origin in "Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire", are also found at the Cave of Origin in "Pokemon Emerald" as well.

Answer: False

In order to allow you to catch both Legendary Pokemon in "Pokemon Emerald", Groudon and Kyogre now roam a little. Asking the fine people at the Weather Institute for reports on any suspicious droughts or heavy rainfalls will lead you to a Marine Cave or a Terra Cave, for Kyogre and Groudon respectively.

In "Pokemon Emerald", they are both at Level 70, while they were only at Level 45 in "Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire".
