Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Welcome to the intro stage of "Megaman X". You begin by being dropped down at the beginning of the level. Where exactly does this level take place?

Answer: A highway

The game begins on a highway, which is surprisingly not uncommon for a "Megaman" or "Megaman X" game. The stage is the shortest and easiest and introduces players to the more common and basic enemies.
2. Now that we can move, we begin to make our way through the level until we come across an unusual enemy. This enemy appears to be a metal ball held in the air by two long, thin bendable metal legs. What is this thing?

Answer: Deerball

The Deerball has the second, more uncommonly used and little heard of name of Ball De Voux. Deerball is one of the most basic enemies in the "Megaman X" series and has no way of attacking you other than to step on you. A Deerball can only be killed by jumping up and shooting the ball held by the legs.
3. There sure seems to be a lot of these unusual Ball De Voux enemies. Where are they coming from? Travelling through the level even more leads you to the source of these balls. What is dropping them off to attack you?

Answer: Bee Blader

The Bee Bladers are native to the highway stage in "Megaman X" and appear no later in the game. Two of them will attack X in the form of a brief mid boss style battle where they'll shoot bullets at X while simultaneously dropping an endless number of Deerballs. Watch out though, a spike located on the chin of the blader will result in an instant death if touched.
4. Just when you think you've gotten away from the frustration of the enemies and to quiet ground, you're forced to complete a jumping obstacle. All this and you're being swarmed by the ugliest looking enemies yet. What are these airborne enemies called?

Answer: Jamminger

The Jamminger appears in more stages throughout the game than any other basic enemy. They're only real way of harming you is to fly directly into you. They are easily dodged and can be killed with one hit from any attack aside an uncharged buster shot, which takes two shots instead. They usually attack X in swarms of three or more.
5. We've approached the second half of the stage. By this point the condition of the stage is worsening. Which of the following is a hazard after the half way mark of the stage?

Answer: Segments of the ground crumble away to a bottomless pit

The ground will eventually look darker and exhibit cracks. Stepping on this ground for any length of time will cause it to crumble beneath X leading to a death pit. This becomes increasingly tricky as the weak ground is used in quick, successive jumping segments towards the end.
6. Home safe. The ground is back to normal and the end of the stage is in sight. There is only one more problem to deal with. What enemies speed towards you in the final stretch of the stage?

Answer: Road Attacker

The Road Attacker is a long red car driven by a gunman. The Attackers are capable of turning around and swarming X if he tries to jump over them, but takes many shots to kill if attacked head on. If shot enough, the driver will be destroyed and the car will free drive until it goes off a cliff
7. I just killed one of those speedy enemies at the end of the stage with uncharged buster shots. How many times did I have to shoot it?

Answer: Twelve

The Attackers certainly take a lot. It takes 8 shots to destroy the driver and an additional 4 to take down the car if you choose to. The safer course of action would be to jump over the car once the driver is dealt with.
8. YES! The end of the stage at last. Just when things are looking bright, the source of the enemies appear. A massive air ship partially lowers on screen. What is the name of this ship?

Answer: Rogumer

The Rogumer is the maverick's main form of air travel that appears more than once in game. It can not be destroyed or even attacked by X, however, it still poses an unfortunate threat to him from the many enemies it produces.
9. The enemies have finally stopped coming. Now the guy in charge makes his entrance in an armored fighting carrier machine. What is the name of this villain?

Answer: Vile

Vile is the "X" series main secondary villain, second on the overall ladder to Sigma himself. You kill him and he comes back and you kill him again and he comes back yet again. Vile himself rarely battles you on foot and prefers to keep to the safety of his armored fighter.
10. Shooting! More shooting! Even more shooting! Why isn't he dead yet? Nothing is working and I find myself trapped in an electrical ball as this invincible enemy is about to finish me once and for all. Just as the final blow is about to be delivered, a shot from nowhere fires on screen and blows the arm off of the creature's carrier. Who saves you?

Answer: Zero

Zero saves you at the last moment, leaving Vile to make his escape while you are distracted by Zero's long stream of text. Once Zero departs the stage ends and you are finally able to progress to more levels and the main part of the game.
