Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. I have an electric weapon handy. Still unsure of what to do, I think I'll apply some logic to the stage I go to next. I'll follow up on a running theme in many gaming series and go to the water stage. Which of the following is the water stage?

Answer: Ship yard

The water stage is a ship yard. It's one of the games shorter stages, however, it hosts four mid-bosses, three of which are mandatory to battle. The stage takes place almost entirely underwater. Since Megaman can't swim, he'll walk along the sea floor and exhibit space mechanics with high jumps and slow gliding to the ground.
2. We begin the water stage on a walk from shallow water into a fully submerged depth. What new enemy will attack us in the shallow zone?

Answer: Mega Tortoise

The Mega Tortoise will remain on the same spot until you destroy it, making it easier to find a safety spot. It only uses one attack in which it'll fire several missiles in the air which will parachute down to land. While this is an easily avoidable attack, the tortoises can take a large number of attacks and will take a while to eventually defeat.
3. Once you've reached full submersion in the water stage you'll be attacked by Sea Attackers. What are Sea Attackers?

Answer: Sea Horses

The Sea Attackers will propel themselves away from you by blowing bubbles at you. Once done, they'll coil up before launching at you. They have low health and can easily be taken down before they can make their launch attack.
4. The first mid-boss of the water level is fought twice, both times enforced. What is the name of this multi-target enemy?

Answer: Anglerge

The Anglerge has two targets. The first is its mouth-like section, and the second is the launcher in place of the bulb on its head. The launcher, while it can be targeted and destroyed, will not destroy Anglerge as a whole if finished first. Anglerge has a vacuuming attack in which it'll pull X towards it or blow him backwards.

This becomes more hazardous in the second battle when spike pits are located along the ground. Lastly, Anglerge will fire several torpedo-like missiles in your direction. These can be shot down.

As with most mid-bosses, Anglerge will take a lot of hits to go down.
5. So, we've met the first mid-boss of the water stage, but there is another one with two battles in the same stage. This one has only one mandatory fight, and unlike the previous mid-boss, does not fire any form of projectile at you, but relies on physical contact. What is this snake-like enemy?

Answer: Utuboros

The Utuboros will enter the stage by emerging from the sand on the ground and swim around the area in a unguided path, rather than going straight for X. The main hazard is that Utuboros takes up a lot of room and trying to avoid it will it's along the ground is difficult. Like Anglerge, it'll take a lot of hits to defeat, but there is an easy way to do it.

While the bottom of all central segments of Utuboros will harm X, he can stand on its back and shoots its head from safety. Otherwise, X can shoot the head and tail from ground as well.
6. The snake-like mid-boss appears twice in the water stage. Once near the end, and once in an optional area of the stage. How do you reach the optional area where the second battle with the snake mid-boss and the heart tank is at?

Answer: Destory the Cruiziler

The Cruiziler is a ship resting on the surface above a bed of spikes. Using one of the jet streams to launch yourself above the surface, you can ride on back of it. The Cruiziler will eject Sky Claws to attack you while you attempt to destroy the orb on its back. Once you've destroyed the Cruiziler, it'll sink underwater and crash into the spike bed, blowing the ground up and forming a tunnel going below the sea floor to a cavern where the heart tank and second Utuboros is.
7. You've finally reached the door to the bosses room. Just before you can go in, one more set of enemies will swarm you. What are these fish called?

Answer: Gulpfer

Gulpfer is a blowfish enemy that sucks you into its mouth where you'll remain until you can blast your way out. Letting the Gulpfer swallow you and destroying it internally is actually a faster process and more easy since you won't have to dodge the suction vortex constantly. They don't actually cause harm unless you make physical contact with them.
8. We've finally reached the boss of the water stage. When you enter the room he'll swim in from above and taunt you. Who am I talking about?

Answer: Launch Octopus

Launch Octopus is the boss of the ship yard stage. Unfortunately, no, he is not weak to Spark Mandrill's weapon and without his actual weakness, will put up a very nerve wrecking fight. Launch Octopus is a very unpredictable maverick and will not attack or counter an attack in a set way. Ultimately, without his weaknesses and an upgrade or two, Launch Octopus becomes one of the most challenging bosses in the entire game.
9. Which of the following things will the boss of the water level not try to do to you?

Answer: Grab you with its tentacles/claws and throw you against a wall

Launch Octopus' main form of attack is to fire a barrage of homing torpedoes at you which will branch in all directions before swarming you from above and below on small angles. His second for of attack is to jump to the ceiling in the center of the room and spin rapidly, forming a whirlpool that'll pull you to the center of the room. If you can't fight it off, Launch Octopus will drop down and cling to you while trying to suck health from you.

This WILL heal him while harming you simultaneously.
10. The boss of the water stage is referenced by the boss of another game in the series. Which one?

Answer: "Megaman X5"

In "Megaman X5" you'll battle an enemy named Squid Adler/Volt Kraken. He'll mention somebody by the name of Octopardo which is Launch Octopus' alternate name. The two clearly are connected as friends or relatives as it's Launch Octopus' death and labeling as a maverick that eventually drives Squid Adler to attack you.
