Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Between chapters, you're met by 'The King' in his house. What is this character?

Answer: An onion

King Onion will periodically appear during the game, usually at the end of each set of stages to note the passage of time and assure you that you're doing a good job. Along with his dog companion, Kevin, he'll also encourage during the introductory mission and the final battle. How can you tell the difference between the King Onion and a regular onion? Well, he's larger, has limbs, and wears a moustache. And for some reason he doesn't seem concerned when you cook with other onions.
2. The first item made in the game is soup. How many types of soup can be made?

Answer: Three

Soup is pretty straightforward as it can only be made one way-- in a pot on a stove. The game doesn't start out banal, however; early levels of the game feature three types of soup: tomato, onion, and mushroom. To cook soup, you need to chop up the ingredients and throw three of them into the pot on the stove, then serve in a bowl.

At no point in the game will ingredients be mixed for soup; a tomato soup will never include mushroom or onion, for example.
3. A burger will never contain which of these?

Answer: Cheese

Interestingly, while cheese does appear later on in the game, burgers, the second item to be introduced, will never include the ingredient. Burgers come in a trio of types-- a plain burger, a burger with lettuce, and a burger with lettuce and tomato. To cook, a patty needs to be pounded down and then placed in a frying pan. Any veggies need to be sliced and it all needs to go on a bun and then onto a plate.

A burger will never have tomato without lettuce.
4. The first ice level of the game is also the first occasion that which of these appears?

Answer: Deep-fryer

The deep-fryer is an appliance that only shows up under a few circumstances, and any chefs required to use it will only need it to fry up fish, potatoes, or the obvious combination of fish and chips. As with stovetops, over-done food could lead to disaster.

The catch with fish and chips is that they're most commonly cooked on ice levels, meaning players are more likely to slip and slide around the kitchen, possibly to their temporary doom.
5. The introduction of pizza also sees the introduction of which of these ingredients?

Answer: Sausage

Pizza ovens start showing up in kitchens before long and there's a pretty normal order of operations for the products made with them. Pizzas always require dough (which must be rolled), cheese, and tomatoes (for sauce). Additionally, you might be expected to make a normal cheese pizza, one with sausage, or one with mushrooms, meaning you'll make use of ingredients previously used for soup and burgers.

This is the only item made in the oven.
6. Burritos come with two meat options, specifically chicken and what other choice?

Answer: Steak

Burritos start appearing late on in the game but are fairly straightforward to make. For these you need to use a couple of appliances. First, all burritos must contain rice, so rice has to be boiled to be used. There will also always be a meat-- chicken or steak-- which has to be prepped and then pan-fried.

The selected meat and rice combine in a tortilla before being plated and served at the window. Stages with burritos are often difficult to maneuver due to environmental hazards.
7. There are only two types of salad you can make in the game. One is just lettuce on its own. What is featured in the alternative?

Answer: Tomato

Salad, while seemingly a straightforward dish, only seems to show up late in the game when most of the tough items to create are already in your arsenal. If anything, a salad option only serves to be a potentially easy alternative or, occasionally, a small hassle.

There are only two types of salads-- one with just lettuce, and the other with lettuce and tomato. In both cases, the vegetables used must be chopped and plated. Fortunately, both items are also common in burgers; it's not uncommon to see them sharing stages.
8. The stages found in Level 5 take place in two new locales-- a volcano and which of these?

Answer: Outer space

The fifth world of the game is the one that brings forth burritos, but the stages alternate between outer space and volcano themes. Outer space is a bit of a trip since its stages often require teammates to be all the more collaborative to affect environmental changes (notably doors).

The volcano levels, however, often feature isolating elements beyond the players' control; stable ground an give way on occasion and lava, of course, is dangerous.
9. Every stage of the game features which of these to assist the chefs?

Answer: Fire extinguisher

If a chef happens to forget or be too late to reach an 'overcooked' item, it will probably set on fire and that fire will start to spread around the kitchen, ruining anything already made. If preventative efforts aren't possible, then the way to stop the further spread of fire is with the lone fire extinguisher found in each kitchen.

It's up to you to locate it and use it properly, though sometimes this won't be as easy as it seems. Interestingly, some levels of the game do not feature sinks (where you clean plates) as the plates sometimes come back cleaned for you. Likewise, some levels only feature a single cutting board, even if there are four chefs.
10. The final stage of the game goes by which name?

Answer: The Peckening

It all leads to this! The final stage of the game brings the chefs to The Peckening atop the skyscrapers where a giant meatball boss waits for his feast. Kevin the dog will assist, bringing ingredients in via crane while the chefs plow their way through a series of recipes. If they can cook everything required of them within the allotted time, then they win the game and destroy the final boss once and for all.
