Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Counting the two genders of the Hero as one, how many unique Warlords are in Pokemon Conquest? (NOTE: This refers to every character with a unique design and gold portrait background, not just the ones that lead kingdoms)

Answer: Thirty-seven

37 unique Warlords make up the bulk of this game's story characters. 17 of them directly control kingdoms (like Yoshihiro and Motonari), but most of the others are subordinates for the kingdom's leaders (like Hanbei and Okuni). A third category contains four Warlords who have no allegiances to any kingdom - Keiji, Mitsunari, Kiyomasa, and Masanori.
2. Which of the following Warlords CANNOT form a link with a legendary Pokemon?

Answer: Ginchiyo

There are ten legendary Pokemon in the game, and nine Warlords who can link with them (Nobunaga gets two). Hideyoshi can use Reshiram, Ieyasu gets Registeel, and Mitsuhide gets Articuno, but Ginchiyo gets nothing. This is despite the fact that Nobunaga's Zekrom can only be found in the kingdom of Violight, which is the kingdom that Ginchiyo leads.
3. What is the most common Warrior Skill?

Answer: "Rally"

A total of four Warlords and eight regular Warriors are capable of using "Rally", making it the overall most common Skill. It boosts the attack of the user's Pokemon and adjacent allies by one stage for three turns, so it's a pretty useful ability for an offensive push.
4. How many Warrior Skills allow the user to move twice?

Answer: Four

They are "Desire", "Ambition", "Willpower", and "Motivate". The first two are Nobunaga's, but "Willpower" is used by Yukimura and "Motivate" belongs to the main character. They also grant extra bonuses; "Desire" doesn't have any additional effects, but "Ambition" can make enemies flinch, "Willpower" increases the critical hit rate, and "Motivate" boosts Attack.
5. How many Warlords have perfect links with Fire-type Pokemon?

Answer: six

The six Warlords in question are the protagonist, Hideyoshi, Kanbei, Yukimura, Kai, and Okuni. Respectively, the Pokemon in question are Flareon, Infernape, Chandelure, Charizard, Darmanitan, and Volcarona. This makes Fire one of the most common types for perfect links among Warlords.
6. Which Warlord is the leader of the kingdom of Pugilis?

Answer: Yoshihiro

Yoshihiro is a very large and very boisterous man who specializes in Fighting-type Pokemon. He acts as one of the first big hurdles in the game's initial story, since his Fighting-types are effective against the Normal-types utilized by Oichi and the protagonist. In his own story, "The Final Gamble," Yoshihiro sets out to unite Ransei himself. His perfect link is the Pokemon Conkeldurr.
7. Which Warlord's appearance, Warrior Skill, and story title are derived from a historical nickname for his real-life counterpart?

Answer: Masamune

The real-life figure Date Masamune was known as "The One-Eyed Dragon." Consequently, Masamune's in-game appearance has him wearing an eye patch, his second Warrior Skill is called "One-Eyed Dragon", and his story is titled "The Dragon's Dream." He even refers to himself as "The One-Eyed Dragon" when he successfully defends a castle.
8. Which Warlord requires a certain amount of Pokemon to be registered in the Gallery before they can transform?

Answer: Nene

For most Warlords to transform, you just need to get them to a certain link percentage with their perfect link (usually around 60-65%). Some make you fulfill other requirements, however - like Nene, who you can't transform until you've registered every one of the game's Poison-type Pokemon in the Gallery. Luckily, there's only sixteen. Nō has a similar requirement; she needs every Ghost-type Pokemon to be registered in the Gallery.

It's of similar difficulty, since there's fifteen of them.
9. Which of these Warlords has a perfect link with a Pokemon whose type is outside of the specialty of their kingdom?

Answer: Aya

Aya hails from Illusio, and is in fact the sister of that kingdom's leader, Kenshin. Despite Illusio being a kingdom of Psychic-types, however, Aya's perfect link is with the Ice/Ghost-type Pokemon Froslass.
10. Which Warlord starts with the most kingdoms under their control in their respective story?

Answer: Shingen

Shingen and Kenshin's stories both start with them controlling half of Ransei, with a goal of winning five battles against the other. However, since Ransei has seventeen kingdoms in it, Shingen gets to start with one extra, leaving him with nine and Kenshin with eight.

It's also worth noting that Muneshige has a similar advantage. The stories that deal with the Junior Warlord competition involve several combatants attempting to take over Ransei to prove their worth. Muneshige is the only Warlord in any of these stories that gets to start with three kingdoms under his command; everyone else only gets one or two.
