Blue Oyster Cult released "Don't Fear the Reaper" on their 1976 album, "Agents of Fortune". Dharma, the lead guitarist of Blue Oyster Cult, stated that the song is not about death, as one would assume by the title, but about eternal love. Fitting for the fight ahead for Tommy and his battle to free Jen.

Each of these items played into the overall dread one got when playing the game. The schoolbus let us know that even children were being abducted by the aliens and this is one of the only games I know where you kill children (well, their spirits anyway.) The Roadhouse is the only dwelling that shows up in the sphere in its entirety.

Although the plane and bus were taken because of the large quantity of people in each, the Roadhouse, for its size, only had three conscious people in it. So who knows why they chose that to abduct.

Everything on the ship is a living, breathing thing from the doors and walls and even to the weapons you use. How you acquire the "assault rifle/grenade launcher" type weapon called Auto Cannons is particularly gruesome in the game but in a satisfying way. Tommy's other means of combating the aliens of the sphere is to Spirit Walk in which his spirit leaves his body and can go through certain barriers. You can also attack enemies in this form using your spirit bow.

When you read some of the monitors while tracking down Jen, they mention how the "Protein" is necessary to keep the sphere alive. Also some maps refer to "protein populaces" referring to major cities in which the aliens were going to in order to harvest more food.

The premise is similar to the aliens in the movie "War of the Worlds". These aliens also harvest humans for fuel. Squishies is the name given by Dr. Nefarious in "Ratchet and Clank 3: Up Your Arsenal" for organic lifeforms.

Answer: You can pick up huge objects that seem weightless.

There are many puzzles throughout the levels that require you to manipulate the gravity on the ship. They never explain how one can manipulate the gravity of just an individual room on the ship. It also created some of the most nauseating parts of the game in which your character makes a comment of in the form of puking. You get shrunk to a very small size relatively early on, which makes Tommy exclaim how weird and confusing some things on this ship were. You never get shrunk again in the game.

Answer: Someone on the airplane that gets abducted

Art Bell and the program he is accepting callers on in the game is a real radio program. His program is called "Coast to Coast AM" and is a paranormal talk show where callers can call in and talk about Aliens and any other weird abnomalies. A kind of radio version of "The X-Files".

Answer: Kills a large number of Keepers for you

The Keepers were her protectors, similar to guardian ants to their queen. She does reunite you with Jen, but without giving too much away, it's not the happy reunion one could have hoped for. The portal back to Earth was created by the Hidden tribe. The Hidden tribe's fight with the Sphere is a metaphor for the plight of Native Americans and their fight against European settlers.

The last time you go to the Guardians world, it isn't as pleasant at the first two times. The first time you go, you are given the ability to Spirit Walk. The second time, your grandfather tells you of the Hidden tribe and how you need to seek them out for guidance and help. The third time is when you must protect the Guardian World from invasion of aliens.
