Linebeck is a treasure-hungry pirate who first meets Link in the Temple of the Ocean King. He's somewhat of a coward and is ruthlessly pursued by the pirate Jolene. He is the captain of a paddle steamer boat, which Link uses to navigate between islands.

The four Cubus sisters seem benign at first, but attack Link after they are reunited! Tetra had gone aboard the Ghost Ship to explore, but it led to her doom, and it is up to Link to find the fabled ship and rescue Tetra.

The Temple of the Ocean King is a multi-floored structure that slowly drains the life of any adventurer who dares enter. Luckily, Link has the Phantom Hourglass, which gives him some time before his life is drained. As Link defeats enemies, more time is added to the hourglass.

The Phantom Sword is an integral weapon in order to defeat Bellum. The three pure metals needed to forge the sword are Crimsonine, Azurine, and Aquanine. Zauz the Blacksmith makes the sword with these three metals.

The Old Wayfarer gives Link a fishing rod, with which the player can play a fishing minigame! The biggest fish you can catch is the fabled Neptoona, and if you bring a Neptoona to the Wayfarer, he'll give you an extra heart container!

Link defeats Bellum once and everyone believes that the danger is over, but Bellum then reappears and takes control of Linebeck, making him twice as dangerous! Link again defeats Bellum and everyone, including Linebeck, is safe again.

The old man Oshus, who raised Ciela and mentors Link on his quest, reveals himself to be the Ocean King, who took the form of an old man in order to hide from Bellum. Once Bellum is defeated, the Ocean King takes his true form and is able to grant one wish to Linebeck.

On the Isle of Frost, the two races are the Anouki and the Yook. One he lands there, Link has to settle a feud between the two races, begun when the head Anouki discovers that a Yook is impersonating one of his people. It turns out that Aroo is the fake Anouki.

Gongoron is the son of Biggoron, head of the Gorons. Gongoron is playable in the final part of the Goron Temple and also in a Dee Ess Island minigame. Dee Ess Island is not initially viewable on the map, but appears once Link's ship draws near.
