Mipha is the Zora Champion and part of the group of warriors who were to fight Calamity Ganon. She and Link were childhood friends and were said to have been engaged at one point. Link manages to locate the other children but Ilia is not with them. Later on, Link locates Ilia but she is suffering from amnesia. Once her memory is restored, Ilia will give Link the horse call which allows him to call Epona from anywhere.

Answer: Maku Tree

The Maku Tree mistakenly believes she and Link are engaged. In "Oracle of Ages", Link must travel back in time to prevent certain events from happening that affected his present time. One of these events is saving the Maku Sprout from attackers. In the present time, the Maku Tree remembers Link but thinks the two are engaged and that he came back to marry her.
5. Link has been engaged to multiple Zora princesses. Link becomes the reluctant "fiancee" of whom in "Ocarina of Time"?

Answer: Ruto

As a child in "Ocarina of Time", Link rescued Princess Ruto from inside Lord Jabu-Jabu. He was seeking the Zora's Sapphire so he could unlock the Door of Time and retrieve the Master Sword. Unbeknownst to Link, the Zora Sapphire is an engagement ring and when Ruto gives it to him, they become engaged.

As an adult, Link meets up with Ruto again in the Water Temple were she complains he abandoned her for seven years. After Ruto is revealed to be the Sage of Water, she explains they the two cannot be married as her duties as a sage are too important.
6. Also in "Ocarina of Time", what is the name of the Lon Lon horse trainer who gives Link Epona?

Answer: Malon

Link first meets Malon when they are children. Malon is a horse trainer whose favorite horse is Epona. The two become fast friends. As an adult, the evil ranch hand Ingo has seized control of Lon Lon Ranch and mistreats the animals. Malon still handles the horses to protect them from Ingo. If Link is successful in a horse race against Ingo, Ingo will give Link Epona and return control of the ranch to Malon who thanks him.
7. In "Link's Awakening", what is the name of the girl who rescues Link when he lands on Toronbo Shores?

Answer: Marin

Marin is a young girl who lives in Mabe Village with her father Tarin. She rescues Link from Toronbo Shores after he washes up there when his ship sunk in a storm. Marin loves animals and singing. All of the animals in Animal Village adore her whenever she comes to visit. Throughout his journey on Koholint Island, Link must escort Marin across dangerous territory and rescue her on Tal Tal Heights. Marin wishes to become a seagull so she can share her song with everyone.
8. Which of the following female companions never shows affection toward Link in any of the games they appear in?

Answer: All of these show affection toward Link

Tatl is Link's fairy companion in "Majora's Mask". Initially she takes a disliking toward Link and blames him for the kidnapping of her brother Tael. She can be quite rude to Link whenever he asks for advice. At the end of the game however, Tatl can be seen sad and upset at Link's leaving, implying she will miss him.

Fi is the spirit that lives in the Goddess Sword in "Skyward Sword". Fi is entirely emotionless and almost robotic throughout the game. However at the end of the game, Link must leave the Goddess Sword in the Temple of Hylia to seal away Demise, which will leave Fi behind. Fi shows emotion for the first time and tells Link she appreciated the time they spent together. She said that being with Link made her happy.

Midna is the titular princess in "Twilight Princess", she spends most of the game in an impish form and teasing Link on their journey. Midna initially does not seem to care about Link, only about protecting her own people, the Twili, and will use Link to complete that task. However, she later sacrifices herself to save Link and Zelda, whom she does not like. She also jokes with Link that he must be blinded by her beauty as he rarely speaks to her.

In an interview in 1997, Shigeru Miyamoto, the crater of the series, said that Navi (Link's fairy in "Ocarina of Time") is in love with Link but evidence of such does not appear in the game.
9. Which character, who owns a bar, from "Twilight Princess" refers to Link as honey and constantly flirts with him?

Answer: Telma

Telma is the charismatic barmaid from "Twilight Princess". The Resistance meet in her bar. It is not clear if Telma is in love with Link or not as she also seems to be in love with Renado, the Shaman of Kakariko Village who does not return her feelings. Telma calls Link "honey" several times throughout the game, often making Link blush or become uncomfortable. Telma's clothing is also risque as she leaves several buttons unfastened on her blouse.

She winks and tells Link he can always stop by her bar whenever he wants to, implying she might have other intentions with him.
10. Which Hylian princess does Link rescue time after time but usually fails to keep the girl in the end?

Answer: Zelda

In many, if not most, games in the franchise, Link rescues Zelda from whatever antagonist has caused havoc in Hyrule. Zelda usually winds up being held hostage in Hyrule Castle by some form of Ganon or Ganondorf. Link's quests take him all over Hyrule collecting whatever items necessary to save Zelda. At the end of the games, typically what happens is that Zelda thanks Link for rescuing her. She then says that her duties as a princess (or sage) require her to stay behind and watch over her kingdom. Link then returns to his hometown.

In "Skyward Sword" and "Wind Waker", Link and Zelda (as Tetra in "Wind Waker") are not separated in the end. Zelda and Link return to their hometown of Skyloft in "Skyward Sword" and sail the high seas in "Wind Waker".
