Although the Vessel of Light isn't bound to any buttons of the Wii Remote, it appears on the side of the player's interface to track progress. As a Twilit Parasite is captured, one of the orbs on the vessel (which looks like a bunch of grapes) will glow. After Lanayru Province, no more of these will appear as Link will have rid the twilight from Hyrule (on that grand scale). Link does not encounter spirits in the Peak and Desert Provinces as well.

Hyrule, being a staple of the "Legend of Zelda" series, is not an unknown place for players, though magically, the land seems to shift every time a new game is played. This incarnation of the land of Hyrule is vast, and Link needs to reach all of the far corners of it in order to save Princess Zelda and defeat the final boss. The land is split into large provinces. Link begins in Ordon Province and proceeds through Faron, Eldin, Lanayru, Desert, and Peak Provinces on different occasions. Most of these large provinces are linked together by the extensive Hyrule Field (though not all of them) which surrounds Hyrule Castle, situated smack-dab in the middle of it all. Hyrule has appeared in many other games from the series including, what may possibly be the most popular title, "Ocarina of Time" and 'A Link to the Past" (as well as others). Termina is from "Majora's Mask", Labrynna is featured in "Oracle of Ages", and Koholint is visited in "Link's Awakening (DX)".

This boss, named Ook, is the crazy baboon that cuts down the bridge in the middle of the ravine in the Forest Temple. If you manage to defeat him in his chamber (which can only be accessed with the help of some relatively strong monkeys), then you can claim the Gale Boomerang for yourself. It is later revealed that Ook was being controlled by an odd Twilit bug that had nestled on his back. Ook later returns to help you during the boss battle in the final chamber of the temple.

The Ball and Chain is a new weapon in the "Legend of Zelda" series as it was introduced in this game. Although it is heavy to lug around, it is extremely powerful and can break numerous structures. Snowpeak Ruins is in the northeast region of Hyrule, and it is the home to Yeta and Yeto. Yeta will later become the boss of the area due to a Twilit Parasite that causes her to become the irate Blizzeta. This area is a large mansion, but due to its poor upkeep, it is in ruin during your visit.

Rusl is from Link's hometown of Ordon Village and whenever Link needs a helping hand, Rusl seems to be there. The Golden Cucco is one such instance. When Link needs to return to the ruins of the Temple of Time to repower the Master Sword and reach the past Temple of Time, Rusl will be waiting outside the Forest Temple with a Golden Cucco, which Link can use to fly to the Sacred Forest. Rusl is first seen with Link in the opening cutscene of the game.

You also use this equippable in other areas, particularly in Lanayru Province in order to catch the Reekfish and participate in the fishing challenges on Zora's River.

Soon, a large hand pulls him into the twilight. Upon waking up, he painfully transforms into a wolf and is dragged to a prison. This first encounter lasts a fair while after as you'll need to explore the area and fight your way to normality.

The slingshot is the first weapon in this game, even surpassing the first sword used in the game. In order to obtain it, you must first use a hawk to collect a cradle for Uli's baby, and then use the fishing rod given to you to catch fish in front of Sera's pet cat near the Ordon Village dock. Once the cat returns home, you can buy the Slingshot from Sera's shop, though you'll need a bunch of Rupees to get it.

When you bring it back to Ilia, she will regain all of her memories and she'll let Link keep it as a souvenir, so now you can call Epona from anywhere (well, nearly anywhere) in Hyrule Field and some of the surrounding towns. Renado will let you into the basement to meet Shad, who is learning of an odd seal, and he will give you the Ancient Sky Book which will allow Shad to return power to the Rod.

When the Stallord of the Arbiter's Grounds is defeated, you will be able to ascend the dungeon and reach the Mirror Chamber at the top (where you will be prompted to fight for a new Warp Point). In this location, you will begin the final steps of the journey involving the Mirror of Twilight and its shards which can be found at the end (are they ever at the beginning) of the proceeding dungeons. To find the first shard, already in its frame, you need to use the spinner and reach the large mechanism in the chamber to begin a cutscene.

The Isle of Riches is next to Fyer's cannon hut on the water of Lake Hylia. In order to get onto the platforms of the Isle, we'll need to start at Falbi's Hut, overlooking the lake. From here, we need to grab onto a Cucco and flutter down to it. One way of doing this is following the right path that loops around to the island. On the top a spinning platform holds a perched Heart Piece. As we go down each platform, we can collect Rupees, and even a Poe Soul. To get back to Falbi's we can easily take a ride in Fyer's Hut, though we'll have to pay a price for the quick method.

You can use this to continue with the simple trading sequence which ultimately results in allowing you to buy a Slingshot from the local shop.

When she gives it back to you, you can use it to summon Epona in many locations along your quest. Epona is first found near the very beginning of the game, and she is needed on many occasions. The horse is a very crucial tool in defeating the Bulblin Lord on the Bridge of Eldin and the Great Hylian Bridge. Epona can also be called with the horse grass found in the fields and paths of Hyrule.

It is the Gale Boomerang and once you defeat him, the parasite that was on the monkey dies and the baboon returns to his normal self and you also gain the Gale Boomerang. So you now get to go off and rescue more monkeys!

Malo, the youngest Ordonian, takes over the abandoned shop in the Village and sells you some useful items (even before you venture to the Goron Mines). The Hawkeye is not necessary if you want to complete the game, but it's a handy tool that allows you to gain better sight when using your newly acquired Hero's Bow. Put it to good use immediately and complete a mini-game in Kakariko Village for a Piece of Heart!
