Axel has three stars for technique while everyone else has two. Max is the strongest character and the hardest to kill, Skate is the fastest and can jump the highest. Blaze is even with two stars for all stats.

With him is Stealth, a palette swap as well but this time of the round 2 boss, Jet. Round 7 has two robots named Particle and Molecule that jump around a lot and are hard to hit. They don't attack often but can with a flail arm and a laser.

Vehelits appears on round 3 as a mid-boss. Z. Kusano appears on the last level as a copy of the round 4 boss. Raptor is a special version of the kickboxers that only appears on round 7 on Mania difficulty. Shiva is the mini-boss that you fight directly before Mr. X.

Zamza is the round 3 boss who is a guy that has claws and flips around and is very diffucult to hit. Soya is a copy of the knife-wielding psycho, Jack. Z is a Donovan type character that appears regularly. Abadede is very strong with a lot of health and can also break out of your combos. He can even break out of special attacks.

Although the counter goes up to nine, you can actually go higher than that. The most lives that you can get is unknown. Normally you can start with a max of three lives, but cheats can be used to control the amount.
