Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which of the following shelled foes can flip itself off its back in only one turn?

Answer: Buzzy Beetle

Buzzy Beetles are notorious for getting back on their feet very quickly. The best way to beat them is to flip them over, then attack them with your partner, or use 'Piercing Blow' to ignore their high defense.
2. Don Pianta is also known as 'The Don of _____'.

Answer: Untimely Death

Don Pianta is the head of the Pianta syndicate, who is responsible for giving you your blimp and train tickets, but only if you can sort out the troubles he's having with his daughter and son-in-law. He mentions his nickname right before he retires between Chapters 5-6.
3. Mario is called several different names during his journey, which of the following is not one of them?

Answer: Martin

Mayor Kroop calls you Murphy, even when you try to correct him, because of his poor hearing and for the same reason, The Puni Elder calls you Marty-O. As for Luigi, Pennington calls you this during Chapter 6 because of his lacklustre detective skills.
4. How many possible costume changes does Mario have?

Answer: 3

This is done with the L (Luigi) and W (Wario) Emblem badges. The L Emblem (Found in the Poshley Sanctum portrait) is for Luigi's gear, the W Emblem give you Wario's clothes and wearing both will combine for Waluigi's costume. However they only change the colour of Mario's clothes.
5. In Chapter 6, the Ratooey Busisnessman loses specs to his company prototype, what is the name of this new product?

Answer: Nitro Honey Syrup

According the the Ratooey, Nitro Honey Syrup has incredible healing powers, even with the ability to raise the dead. Although if combined with seashell calcium and gold, it can cause a massive explosion. This was the plan for Doopliss, who had snuck onto the train pretending to be Zip Toad.
6. Who were the souls in the Black Chests originally?

Answer: The Four Heroes

Their story can be heard from Grifty in Rogueport. The Four Heroes consisted of a wise Goomba, a stalwart Koopa, a strong Toad and a Boo with powerful magic. The four teamed up to vanquish the powerful demon, 'The Shadow Queen'. Although they were sucessful in sealing the demon's spirit away, it cursed four of the Crystal Stars, so that when the Four Heroes let go of these Stars, they would be trapped forever in a Black Chest.

This answers many questions, like why their curse helps you, as well as the locations of the chests. (Listen to Grifty's other stories to learn more about The Four Heroes.)
7. Who was the only witness to Princess Peach's kidnapping?

Answer: Wonky

Wonky will tell you about 'The Incident He Saw' which is about the X-Nauts kidnapping Peach. Beldam also mentions an 'old man' who had seen them preventing them from getting the map before Peach mailed it.

(So, if you think about it, indirectly, Wonky played a crucial part in saving the world.)
8. There is a Shine Sprite in Glitzville's main square (between the Glitz Pit and the Juice Bar) which is suspended high up. True or False: You can only get this Shine Sprite with the Spring Jump.

Answer: False

That's false, while you CAN get it with the Spring Jump, it's much easier to whack the invisible block underneath it and reach it. This is also the case for many other shine sprites.
9. Which of the following is the correct order of the Bingo Roulette?

Answer: Mushroom, Flower, Star, Shine Sprite, Poison Mushroom

When you suceed in executing an Action Command, a Bingo Icon will appear in the top right corner. Get two the same, and the next time, you will have a go at the Bingo Roulette, which gives you the chance to heal either your HP, FP, SP, all three, or cut your stats in half.

The trick is to watch carefully, and press A the moment when the icon before appears. Example: With two Mushrooms, to get your third, press A the moment the green Poison Mushroom appears and you will almost always get it.
10. What is the combined Badge Points required to wear the following badges? Piercing Blow, Lucky Day, Defend Plus, Fire Drive, Power Plus, Shrink Stomp, Double Pain and Super Appeal P.

Answer: 24

The Required BP are as following: Piercing Blow, 1. Lucky Day, 7. Defend Plus, 5. Fire Drive, 3. Power Plus, 6. Shrink Stomp, 1. Double Pain, 0. Super Appeal P, 1.

Also, on a personal note, the following badges, (with the exception of Double Pain) are favourites of mine, they have saved my neck more than once.
