Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which main character is killed in the middle of the first week of the Reaper's game?

Answer: Rhyme

Put off guard by an easy-sounding mission, Beat challenges Neku to a race to the mission's stated finishing point. However, during the race he is oblivious to the fact that he is being pursued by a large shark Noise, and right before he is destroyed, Rhyme dives in front of Beat, pushing him out of the way, but is in turn erased by the Noise.
2. Including 'Another Day', how many days are playable in 'The World Ends With You'?

Answer: Twenty-two

There are three weeks of seven days, with an extra day (called 'Another Day') which is unlocked after the completion of the game. 'Another Day' is set in a parallel world in which everyone is addicted to 'Tin Pin Slammer', a tabletop game which is a bit like 'Beyblade'.
3. What colour is Reaper Uzuki Yashiro's hair?

Answer: Pink

Unlike many of her colleagues, Yashiro is obsessed with her work. Although she has a fairly low rank among the Reapers, she is a perfectionist in every aspect and strives to move up the ranks. When she is restricted from working hard it drives her crazy. Yashiro, like all of the low-class Reapers (also called Harrier Reapers), has a total disregard for the lives of Players.

She values each competitor as little as Noise. She is nicknamed 'Pinky' by several characters due to her hair colour.
4. What is the name of Yashiro's easy-going Reaper partner?

Answer: Koki Kariya

Although rumoured by several Reapers to have high-level abilities, Kariya prefers to sit back and relax than exert effort in his assignments. During the game, Kariya tells Uzuki that he declined a promotion because being an officer meant that he couldn't be out and about in Shibuya, and he would only spend a life he would see as boring. Kariya spends most of his time playing games with Uzuki which he usually wins.

The loser of these games treats the winner to a bowl of ramen. They play these games usually with quite serious subjects, such as finding out the origin of the Taboo Noise.

Despite the differences in attitudes and goals, Uzuki and Kariya are friends and work incredibly well together.
5. Fictional in-game rock star, '777', is a Reaper.

Answer: True

777 (Triple Seven) is the lead singer of Def March, a rock band that also includes Reapers BJ and Tenho. He is also one of the support reapers, though he doesn't wear the same hooded uniform as the others. He enjoys being able to exist both in the Underground and in the Realground so that he can perform his concerts. 777 is very controlling of the band, and rarely lets the other members step into the spotlight. 777 was later supposedly erased by Mitsuki Konishi, during the third week of the Reaper's game. Several times in the game Beat calls 777 'Porcupine' due to his hairstyle.
6. Which of these items does Reaper and Conductor Megumi Kitaniji wear?

Answer: Sunglasses AND Headphones

Kitaniji is the Conductor of the Reaper's Game. He is the direct superior of the Game Masters, and in turn he is the direct subordinate of the Composer. His job is to ensure that the Game is played exactly to the Composer's specifications. Never seen without his sunglasses or red headphones, Kitaniji is sinister without being over the top, and keeps a level head as his subordinates disobey him and attempt to break the rules of the Game.

He is called 'Shades' by Neku for obvious reasons.
7. What is Neku's entry fee for the second week of the Reaper's game?

Answer: Shiki Misaki

In Neku's flashback during the second week, we see that three people made it through the first week of the Reaper's game, Neku, Beat and Shiki. However, Kitaniji says that only one person is allowed back to the real world per week, and that Shiki had 'scored the most points' during the week.

She seems to ascend back to the real world, and just after this Kitaniji tells Neku he has to play the game again. Neku's memories are returned, but he is tricked by Kitaniji; Neku gets the thing that now means most to him taken away as his entry fee, which is Shiki Misaki.
8. Does Beat become a Reaper in the third week of the Reaper's game?

Answer: No

Beat becomes a Reaper in the SECOND week of the Reaper's game. When Neku, Shiki and Beat all meet Kitaniji after winning the game, Beat decides to become a Reaper, for the reason that when he is in Reaper form he can bring back Rhyme, who died in the first week, to be his Noise companion.

However, Beat fights alongside Neku in the third week, and later Rhyme gets turned into a pin which Neku can use.
9. What are the colours on the pin which the Reapers call the 'O-Pin', and which brainwashes anyone who wears it?

Answer: Red and Black

The Red Skull Pin, or O-Pin as it is known to Reapers, is used in Kitaniji's plan to rid Shibuya of any egotistical thoughts, and make everyone think the same 'harmonious thoughts'. In one mission, Neku has to promote this pin, which leads throughout the story to everyone wearing the pin.

The Reapers are told that the pin 'increases their attack capabilities', and so all wear these pins. During the third week, everyone wearing the pins gets brainwashed, and Reapers such as Uzuki and Kariya start attacking Neku and Beat randomly.

The pin is equippable in battle, and does nothing apart from slowing you down.
10. MASSIVE SPOILER ALERT: Who is the Composer?

Answer: Joshua

Joshua was the Composer a long time before the arrival of Neku into the Reaper's game. He had plans to destroy Shibuya, as all the people were thinking only of themselves, until Kitaniji proposed a game; if he could not rid Shibuya of the envious and greedy thoughts of people, the Composer could destroy Shibuya.

The Composer then traveled to the Real World and killed Neku, making him a Player, but erasing all memories of this. The Composer's plan was to use Neku to help him succeed in defeating Kitaniji, and so Neku would, unknown to him, be effectively destroying Shibuya. If you want to know what happens in the end, or already know, play the game through to the ending! Thanks for taking your time to play my quiz.
