1. Cecil Harvey, a Dark Knight who transforms into a Paladin

Answer: Final Fantasy IV

"Final Fantasy IV" was released in 1991 for the SNES platform, four years after the initial game in the series. In this instalment, Cecil appears for the first time, a Dark Knight (who changes his ways and becomes a Paladin) trying to prevent a sorcerer named Golbez from destroying the world. After becoming a Paladin, Cecil's black armor is exchanged for blue and white.
2. Reinhardt Wilhelm, Tank hero and former Crusader

Answer: Overwatch

"Overwatch" had its initial release in 2016 on Sony's PlayStation 4, Microsoft's Xbox One, and Windows for PC.

Reinhardt Wilhelm is an older soldier who has a wealth of experience, having joined the German military as a young man. He would later join the Crusaders, then become one of the founding members of the strike force that became Overwatch.

Reinhardt wears powered armor and wields a rocket hammer and a barrier field (energy shield) amongst his weaponry.
3. Solaire of Astora, an Undead in the covenant of the Warriors of Sunlight

Answer: Dark Souls

"Dark Souls" was first released in 2011 on the Playstation 3 and XBox 360, the second in the "Souls" series that began with "Demon's Souls" in 2009.

Solaire of Astora is a character that the player meets in the game, a knight who purposely chose to become Undead (according to the mythos of the game) to pursue his quest of finding his own Sun. The character is a very skilled fighter who is friendly and helpful. As a player, you can use him to help fight the boss, or you might have to kill him as he goes insane (as all Undead eventually do).
4. Arthas Menethil, former paladin of the Silver Hand who became the Lich King

Answer: Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos

"Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos" was released on PC in 2002, the third instalment of the series that began in 1994 with "Warcraft: Orcs and Humans".

In this game, Arthas Menethil is the leader of the Burning Legion and is trying to conquer Azeroth by leading an army of the Undead. The aim of the game is for the Humans, Night Elves and Orcs to work together to stop him.
5. Hildegard von Krone, princess of Wolfkrone

Answer: Soulcaliber IV

"Soulcaliber IV" was released in 2008 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and happens to be the SIXTH instalment of the series that began with the arcade games "Soul Edge" and "Soul Edge, Ver. 2/Soul Blade" in 1995.

In the game, 'Hilde' takes control of her country's army when they are threatened by the forces of the evil Nightmare. Her quest is to find and revive Algol, an ancient Hero-King, to bring peace to the land.
6. Ky Kiske, captain of the International Police Force and former commander of the Sacred Order of Holy Knights

Answer: Guilty Gear

"Guilty Gear" was initially released in 1998 for the PlayStation.

In this original game from the series, players can choose from ten different characters to participate in a tournament meant to prevent the enemy Gears (bio-organic weapons) from resurrecting their leaders. One of those characters is Ky Kiske, who was the leader of the Sacred Order of Holy Knights at the age of 16, and chose to help maintain the peace after the Holy War. His weapons are his Thunderseal sword lightning magic.
7. Titania, deputy commander of the Greil Mercenaries

Answer: Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance

"Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance" was released in 2005 for Nintendo Gamecube, the ninth instalment of the series that began with "Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light" in 1990.

In both this game and the one following ("Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn"), Titania is a playable character who is an ex-Crimean knight who is the deputy commander of the Greil Mercenaries (who generally fight brigands to protect villages).
8. Sir Daniel Fortesque, the resurrected 'Hero of Gallowmere'

Answer: MediEvil

"MediEvil" was first released in 1998 for Sony PlayStation with sequels in 2000 and 2005.

Sir Daniel Fortesque, was touted as the 'Hero of Gallowmere' in the game's in-story mythology, but actually killed by the first arrow shot in the battle. When the evil Zarok reappears to resurrect an army of the dead for his nefarious purposes, he also raises Fortesque. Now a skeleton, the unseemly knight fights against Zarok's forces to try an earn his way into the Hall of Heroes in truth.
9. Dirk the Daring, knight of Ethelred

Answer: Dragon's Lair

"Dragon's Lair" was released in 1983 on LaserDisc as an interactive film.

Playing the character of Dirk (the Daring) the game had limited options and you basically had to choose actions that would either further the narrative or result in your death (generally a spectacular and humorous cutscene). Dirk's ultimate goal? Rescue the love of his life, Princess Daphne of Ethelred.
10. Captain Adelbert Steiner, leader of the Knights of Pluto

Answer: Final Fantasy IX

"Final Fantasy IX" was released in the year 2000 for the PlayStation.

Captain Adelbert Steiner is a playable character who seems an unlikely knight, portly in his armor and the target of many jokes. But he is staunch in pursuing his main duty, which is to lead the Knights of Pluto and to protect his charge, Princess Garnet.
