As Ratchet fights his way through the logging site, smashing robots and Blarg troopers, he'll find the Suck Cannon, a nifty little device that can suck up small enemies and fire them at others. The Suck Cannon can be upgraded to the Gold Suck Cannon at the Gemlik Base and also after finishing the game.

It makes a reappearance in "Ratchet & Clank 3", specifically at Nefarious' underwater base on Aquatos. Slim Cognito is hiding there after selling a Suck Cannon upgrade to a minor, who he swore looked eighteen.

This version of the Suck Cannon upgrades to the Vortex Cannon at Level 5.

Answer: Fort Krontos, Batalia

Once the fort on Planet Batalia is cleared, the Plumber is waiting at a turret cannon, where Ratchet must shoot airships out of the sky. Completing this challenge causes the Plumber to give Ratchet the Metal Detector, a device created by his grandfather, that can find bolts hidden underneath the ground. White pulses emanate from the head of the detector, and slowly turn redder the closer it gets to some hidden bolts.

The beeping will also get louder.

A robot Qwark guards the entrance to the training course at Metropolis, and Clank believes it to be the real Captain Qwark, until Ratchet tells him otherwise. The fitness course is divided into three islands, each connected by a zipline, which you can fly down using the wrench.

At the end of the course, Helga offers the Swingshot as a prize for finishing, but because what she saw was the worst display on the obstacle course, she charges Ratchet 1000 bolts for it. The Swingshot uses hovering Versa-Targets which, depending on the type, allow Ratchet to swing or grapple.

Big Al upgrades Clank with the Heli-Pack at Metropolis, his brother Bob has one at the Jowai Resort and provides Clank with a Thruster-Pack upgrade, and Edwina, their sister, has a shop at the Bomb Factory on Planet Hoven. She has a Hydro-Pack upgrade for Clank. This allows Ratchet to swim faster and also against strong currents.

The second Hoverboard competition in the game takes place at the Gadgetron headquarters on Planet Kalebo III. The skill point "Magician" can be obtained by getting a score of at least 4500 on the hoverboard course, by doing lots of tricks.

After Qwark's ship is shot down at the Gemlik Base, he ends up at the ruins of Gorda City on Planet Oltanis. After navigating an icy, electrified course high about the city, you'll find Steve McQwark, a man that looks suspiciously similar to Captain Qwark.

He sells Ratchet the Gadgetron PDA. Ratchet asks what PDA stands for, suggesting 'public display of affection'. "Steve" points out that it stands for 'personal delivery assistant'.

There are two routes to choose in Blackwater City: one takes Ratchet and Clank through the city to the hoverboard races, and the other goes through the sewers and underground water pipes to Captain Qwark's trailer. The bouncer does not let Ratchet and Clank enter the trailer, but allows them to go in when they pay him 4000 bolts.

Ratchet can pay 3000 bolts for the Premium Nanotech upgrade, which increases his maximum health to 5 Nanotech slots. Later in the game, the Ultra Nanotech upgrade is available to purchase, which increases Ratchet's health to 8 Nanotech slots. However, it costs 30000 bolts, and this may take a while to accumulate.

The Hydrodisplacer allows Ratchet to suck up large quantities of water using special Hydro-Faucets. When Clank splits up from Ratchet at the Blarg Station, he finds the Hydrodisplacer at the end of his spacewalk. The device's first use comes at Blackwater City, as Ratchet makes his way to Qwark's trailer.

Clank finds his mother on Planet Quartu, a computer that creates Sentrybots. However, a malfunction caused her to create Clank, although it didn't appear to be an accident. Clank agrees to help Ratchet fight Drek, and promises to his make his mother proud. He turns to leave, and she replies with, "You already have".
