Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Immediately after exiting Decalburg for the first time, 1-1, Warm Fuzzy Plains is the only stage that can completed.

Answer: True

2-1, Drybake Desert, 3-1, Leaflitter Path, and Surfshine Harbor are all available to enter right now, but Mario needs certain stickers to complete them. It is possible to enter them, but there is no possible way to complete them without gathering those stickers. However, all Worlds can be entered, and all but World 6 can even be finished, before even finishing World 1.
2. When journeying through 1-1, Warm Fuzzy Plains, a Toad crashes into Mario and drops a rare Scissors sticker. Mario then must battle Bowser Jr. Is it required to use the Scissors sticker?

Answer: Yes, he will keep on healing himself otherwise

Bowser Jr., flying in Bowser's Clown Car, has 20 HP. A Shiny Jump sticker can deal 19 HP damage at most, and Hopslipper stickers won't deal any damage, but after every turn, he will heal if Mario hurts him and then attack. If Mario doesn't use the sticker, then after the fourth turn, Bowser Jr. will point out he will definitely win, but says not to use the rare sticker because he really wants it.

This is Mario's cue to use it if he hasn't already. Once Mario uses it, epic music will play and three green scissors will appear and cut the screen into little pieces, defeating Bowser Jr. in one hit. Once the battle ends, Bowser Jr. accuses Mario of cheating, takes the bridge from over the water, crumples it, throws it up a cliff, and flies away.
3. Once Mario returns to the beginning of Warm Fuzzy Plains to get help, a number of Toads will offer to help you. How many Toads?

Answer: Five

Many first-time players may not know what to do, but if Mario asks Kersti, she suggests that they go back to see if they can get help. Four Toads will be running around panicking about all the Goombas, but the Toad Mario bumped into earlier when running away from Bowser Jr. is hiding behind a bush. If Mario talks to him, he jumps out and suspects you defeated Bowser Jr. easily.

He calls the other Toads to combine in a stack and follow Mario to the bridge, or where it was, rather, to help. If Mario shows him to the ledge where Bowser Jr. threw the crumpled bridge on, the stack of Toads will stand on top of each and lean against the ledge to make stairs, allowing Mario to reach it.

Afterwards, if Mario returns to the previous area and talks to a certain Toad, he will say that a new Toad saying is, "A stack of Toads can do anything!"
4. Kersti's special powers can perform the act of paperization. Paperization involves placing a scrap or sticker into a certain place for something to happen. In this case, Mario must paperize the bridge back into place so he can cross it. Which of these is not a step of paperization something into place?

Answer: Unfolding up the scrap/sticker

Mario can paperize anytime he wants by pressing the Y button. This will stop time and allow Mario to freely choose a scrap or sticker to place. A place where a scrap can be placed will look purplish and weird. A sticker can be placed in a place if an outline shows up in that place when Mario is paperizing.

It will normally create a block Mario can hit. Paperization can also be used to peel scraps off places they don't belong. Usually if that happens it either must be replaced in the same spot at a different angle or placed in a different place where a different scrap was peeled off.
5. Up ahead, past the bridge, Mario will come across a stump upon a short ledge. If he paperizes a sticker in in there, a ? Block will appear that could contain a variety of things. Which of these could not come out of the ? Block if Mario placed a sticker inside and hit it?

Answer: Multiple clones of the same sticker

Additionally, multiples versions of a weaker sticker may come out. For example, if Mario places a Jump sticker inside, there is a chance of three Worn-Out Hammer stickers emerging. The chances of certain things happening differ from where the ? Block is located. Most likely the sticker will become more power (Worn-Out to Normal, Normal to Shiny, Shiny to Flashy), although if the sticker is already Flashy, it will become a different sticker that is better.

For example, a Flashy Jump sticker will become a Flashy Iron Jump sticker. Sometimes the block will give Mario physical items and the sticker back.

For example, a Mushroom sticker placed inside a ? Block may result in giving you several hearts and the Mushroom sticker again. For a completely different sticker, naturally, the sticker that comes out will be the original sticker's alternate counterpart. Fire Flower stickers and Shell stickers are counterparts, Hopslipper stickers and Eekhammer stickers are counterparts, and there are other pairs as well.
6. In the next area, Mario can peel off the Bowser Tape to the north to reveal a cave. If he enters, a pair of Scissors stands in a beacon of light. Kersti will jam it in the album, in a separate tab. What does Kersti decide to call these articles?

Answer: Things

These "Things" can be found in different levels. A shop opens up later that allows Mario to turn the Thing into a sticker. If he transforms the Scissors into a sticker, it replicates the Scissors sticker used to defeat Bowser Jr. Mario can also buy Things he has gotten before if he does not currently have it. All Things can be found in the place they were if the sticker has been sold or used up, but will not return unless Mario does not have the Thing or the sticker.

These Thing stickers are extremely powerful and will sell for twenty coins each.

Some of these stickers will take up a large amount of space in the album.
7. When Mario nears the end of the stage, the three Goombas he pummeled in Decalburg return. However, they are stronger this time. What variation of Goombas do they transform into?

Answer: Paper-Cone Goombas

Paper-Cone Goombas look like paper airplanes with the tips pointing upward. If Mario jumps on one, he will get hurt unless he is using an Iron Jump sticker. They have 7 HP each and fly toward you to deal damage, more than the average Goomba. The other answers to this question are all variations of Goombas that appear later in the game.
8. In the level 1-2, Bouquet Gardens, Mario may come across extremely high winds. If he travels around the winds, he will find the source: a giant Fan. After turning it off and collecting it, a Toad will be very upset about the wind destroying his Fire and Ice Flowers. If Mario paperizes Fire and Ice Flower stickers back into his garden, the new flowers will clone the stickers Mario used to create them. What reward does the Toad give the first time you do it?

Answer: An HP-Up Heart

The flowers will release two of the sticker Mario used to make them. For example, if Mario paperized Flashy Fire and Ice Flowers where the flowers were, they would each release two Flashy Fire or Ice Flower stickers, depending on which kind Mario used to replace the flowers.

There are three flowers that can be replaced. It does not matter whether you use three Fire Flower stickers, two Ice Flower stickers and one Fire Flower, etc. The HP-Up Heart will give Mario an extra 5 HP and will heal him. There are a total of sixteen HP-Up Hearts, and getting them all will result in Mario having 100 HP.
9. On a ledge, two Goombas are taking turns attacking a poor Toad. If Mario stands up to them, they demand a price of how many coins to let him go?

Answer: 20

Mario can also choose to battle them. If so, they will merge into a Two-Fold Goomba, an even more powerful Goomba with 10 HP and higher attack. Once they are taken care of, either way, the Toad will take a rare Thing, a Cat-O-Luck, he found, which provoked the Goombas to attack him until he gave it to them.

The Cat-O-Luck also appears in a future level. This Toad needs rescuing once in each world, except World 6, and will reward you each time. After rescuing him all five times and visiting his house, there will be several pictures of his adventures.

After reading the story on each on, the Toad will cry and give you an HP-Up Heart.
10. As Mario continues through Bouquet Gardens, five Goombas confront him. What do they transform in to battle him?

Answer: Nothing; Mario just fights five individual Goombas

The large amount of enemies in one battle reminds Kersti about another one of her powers; the Battle Spinner. It costs three coins to use, although it will automatically be activated at the start of a boss battle. It is like a roulette spinner; there are several icons, such as lightning, Mushrooms, coins, and POW Blocks. If Mario matches three of the same icon, an effect will happen depending on the icon.

For example, three Mushrooms will heal Mario, three coins will give Mario a lot of coins, and three lightnings will strike the enemies with lightning.

It will also allow Mario to use three stickers on that turn, and two on the next turn. Matching two icons will let Mario use two stickers on that turn. If the icons are coins, Mario will receive two coins. If only of the icons is a coin, Mario will get one coin. Coins are twice as common as each other icon on the spinner, making them the easiest match to get.
