Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which of the following Wii peripheral devices may be used with the "Wii Fit" system?

Answer: All of these

While a significant number of activities only require usage of the Balance Board, some activities utilize the Wii Remote, and one activity requires attaching the Nunchuk to your Wii Remote. Additionally, there are some activities that don't require the use of any peripheral.
2. What information must you provide to the "Wii Fit" system, in order to calculate your body mass index?

Answer: height

The "Wii Fit" system does a reasonably accurate job of calculating your body mass index, abbreviated as BMI, by inputting your height. While you are also asked to input your birth date, it isn't necessary for calculating your BMI. Basically, the formula for calculating your BMI is your weight divided by the square of your height.

The formula varies, depending on the units of measurement that you use.
3. "Wii Fit" comprises four categories of training. Which of the following categories is not included in "Wii Fit"?

Answer: Swimming

It might be possible to simulate some sort of swimming exercise, but it is not an activity, nor is it one of the training categories. The other category is a series of balance games, which can test your coordination, balance and stamina.
4. One of the balance games requires you to strike a soccer ball with your head, as it is being kicked to you from a line of soccer players. What happens in the event that you are struck in the head with a panda ball?

Answer: You lose three points.

As a line of players kick soccer balls toward you, you must "head" the soccer ball, in order to score points. Occasionally, the players will kick shoes and panda balls in your direction. Getting hit with a shoe will cost one point, but having the misfortune of being hit with a panda ball will cost three points.
5. What reward do you receive, when you score ninety or more points in an activity?

Answer: You receive a four star rating.

For most of the activities and games, there is a scoring system based on your performance. You can earn a maximum of one hundred points on many of the activities. In addition to earning a four star rating, you are eligible to advance to a more difficult version of the activity. You may also receive trophies after at least twenty hours of activity.
6. Your cumulative training time is displayed in a Fit Bank. It looks like a piggy bank. After forty hours of training time, what color does your Fitpiggy become?

Answer: gold

As you progress through the more than forty activities and games, you are able to unlock more vigorous and challenging activities. Once you accumulate forty hours of training time, your piggy bank transforms into a gold Fitpiggy.
7. What are you strongly cautioned against doing on the Balance Board?

Answer: jumping on it

Some activities require a sudden shift in weight, in order to achieve the desired effect. However, jumping on the board will abort the activity and potentially damage the board. Simply sitting on the board for three minutes is the object of one of the Balance Board games.
8. The Balance Bubble game requires you to navigate a relatively narrow and winding river, inside a bubble. What happens if your bubble runs into one of the river banks?

Answer: Your bubble will burst.

Running into the sides of the river maze will cause your bubble to burst, thus ending the game. A slight brush against an embankment will cause a slight flutter, but you may continue. There are also annoying bees hovering above you at certain points. If you dawdle, the bees with sting you and burst your bubble.
9. Is it possible to cheat in "Wii Fit"?

Answer: Yes

Yes, of course. The jogging activities prompt you to place the Wii Remote in your pocket and jog or run in place. However, you can simply wave the remote up and down, while sitting on the couch. Naturally, this doesn't improve your fitness, so there really isn't much point in cheating.
10. During the course of your "Wii Fit" training, you may elect to take the body test. Each time you complete a body test, you may mark your calendar with unlockable stamps. What kind of stamp can you unlock after thirty body tests?

Answer: your own Mii character's face

Depending on how you are able to perform on two of the five available balance tests, you will be assigned a "Wii Fit" Age. There are eight different stamps, with which to stamp your calendar. Stamps are unlocked in the following order: 1) footprint - beginner, 2) OK stamp - two days, 3) star - four days, 4) heart - seven days, 5) flower - ten days, 6) the ubiquitous smiley face - fourteen days, 7) a clover - twenty-two days, and finally after thirty days, you may use a stamp of your Mii character's face.
