Woodrow Wilson (1856-1924) was the 28th American President from 1913 to 1921. He did not want to be involved in war, but had to declare war on Germany after the German U boat sank RMS Lusitania on 7 May 1915. The sinking changed the public opinion of the American people, resulting in the American entry into First World War. After the War, President Wilson proposed the League of Nations, the first world organization to main world peace. It was founded on 10 January 1920.
