General Montgomery Meigs established it as a method of getting back at Robert E. Lee, but the property did not belong to Robert.
2. Which family owned the property that is now Arlington National Cemetery?

Answer: Custis

The land belonged to Robert E. Lee's wife Mary Custis, she inherited it from her father George. George was the grandson of Martha Washington from her first marriage.

Elected governor of California and appointed to the court by Eisenhower. He was placed in charge of investigating the assassination of the former president.

The accident occurred on September 17, 1908. Selfridge was the military observer on the flight and the pilot was Orville Wright. Thomas Baldwin was a balloonist. Wilbur Wright died a few years later, in 1912, while Orville lived until 1948.
