Answer: Jordan

The annexation of the West Bank, which more than doubled Jordan's population, came about after talks with Israel which petered out in March 1950. The arrangement didn't last long, though. There were intense rivalries between the Arab states and their leaders.

In addition, Arab militants in Palestine refused to accept Jordanian rule and in 1964 founded the Palestine Liberation Organisation.
8. What Australian town is known as the Opal Capital of the World?

Coober Pedy is an opal mining town in the harsh outback of South Australia. It is estimated that 70 percent of the world's opals are mined in the opal fields of the area.

10. Which of the following countries was not neutral at the beginning of the World War I?

Answer: Australia

Switzerland prides herself on her neutrality. At the beginning of WWI, President Wilson declared the US to be neutral. Though Italy had a treaty of alliance with Germany and Austria-Hungary, it found a 'let-out' clause, and in 1915 declared war on Austria-Hungary.

As for Australia, Britain declared war in 1914 on behalf of the entire British Empire, including countries with dominion status.
