Casa Grande is the main house, with 115 rooms; Casa del Mar, Casa del Sol and Casa del Monte are the "guest cottages".

Answer: Julia Morgan

Born in San Francisco in 1872, she was one of the first women to receive a civil engineering degree from UC Berkeley. She died in 1957.
