Terry Scott in his school cap, and shorts saying. "All those miles of chewy toffee, covered in creamy Cadbury's chocolate will keep them quiet. Right, are you ready you lot. Go. Ooh, aargh, help. Oo crumbs, let me out. Right. Confess. Which one of you screamed?"
3. "I've got this friend called Malcom, well I wouldn't say he's tight. But his wallet would make a quiet place for moths to spend the night. He's first out of the taxi, and last into the pub. He said he'd like to buy a drink, but, and here's the rub. He's just a little short right now, so could he have a sub.."?

Answer: Harp

"I stood him for another, and he swore he'd get them in. Then going over to the mic, I announced above the din. Tonight is Malcom's birthday, and the drinks are all on him. Harp, stays sharp to the bottom of the glass."
4. What "cleans floors without scratching"?

Answer: Flash

Shake and Vac had the annoying singing and dancing housewife. Ajax cleaned like a "white tornado". Vim is evidently excellent for cleaning brass and silver.

6. What is it that 'Shines umpteen things clean'?

7. Female chimpanzee: "Cooee, Mister Shifter. Like refreshment?" Young male chimpanzee: "'ere Dad, do you know the piano's on my foot"?

One of the many PG Tips chimp ads. The answer was (predicatably) "You hum it son, I'll play it".
8. "They peel them with their metal knives. Boil them for 20 of their minutes. Then they smash them all to bits"? What specific Cadbury's product was advertised like this?

Answer: Smash

"Smash" was a form of instant mashed potato, made from cooked and dehydrated potatoes that could be "reconstituted" by adding boiling water. The ad featured squawky-voiced metal "Martians", who mocked humans for making mashed potato using fresh vegetables. The ad, with its slogan "For mash get Smash", was enormously successful and is still fondly remembered.
9. "He were a great baker were our Dad"? What UK make of bread was advertised like this?

Answer: Hovis

Parodied many times, most notably by Tony Capstick in his comic recitation "Capstick Comes Home". The original advert was directed by Ridley Scott, before he achieved fame and fortune as a film director.
10. "The __ Kid is strong and tough, and only the best is good enough. The creamiest milk, the whitest bar. The goodness that's in __." What?

Answer: Milky Bar

The Milky Bar Kid. Blonde, blue eyed and wore glasses, the perfect target for bullies. Why did it become 'Nestlays' rather than 'Nesalls'? Although my wife (an American) says it's always been Nestlays.
