2. Who was the first President to have an oval office in the West Wing?

The original rose garden was planted during Wilson's time in office, but it was redesigned during Kennedy's term, and has stayed that way ever since.

Answer: Helen Thomas

Helen Thomas was born in 1920, and served in the briefing room for every president from John F. Kennedy to Barack Obama. Her career ended ignominiously in 2010 when she was fired after making anti-Semitic remarks. She died in 2013, aged 92.
