1. Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge Act (STOCK)

The STOCK Act was signed into law by President Barack Obama on April 4, 2012. It was designed to combat insider trading. It prohibited members of Congress and other government employees from using non-public information to gain profit, including insider trading.

The bill was introduced by Scott Brown, Republican Senator from Massachusetts, and Kirsten Gillibrand, Democrat Senator from New York. As per the law, every Member of Congress has to publicly file and disclose any financial transaction of stocks, bonds, and other securities within 45 days.

The bill has nineteen sections.
2. Economic Recovery Tax Act (ERTA)

The Economic Recovery Tax Act (ERTA) of 1981 was a major tax cut signed into law by President Ronald Reagan on August 13, 1981. It was also known as the Kemp-Roth Tax Cut, after Republican House Representative from New York, Jack Kemp, and Republican Senator from Delaware, William Roth.

Introduced by the Democratic House Representative from Illinois Dan Rostenkowski, the bill was a large tax cut. The top marginal tax rate decreased from 70 percent to 50 percent and the lowest rate decreased from 14 percent to 11 percent. Estate taxes, capital gain taxes and corporate taxes also decreased.
3. Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act (BAPCPA)

The Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act was signed into law by President George W. Bush on April 20, 2005. Many of the provisions of the bill was to prevent from abusing loopholes in the existing United States Bankruptcy Code. In particular, the passing of this Act made it more difficult for businesses to file bankruptcy under Chapter 7, where most debts are discharged, and requiring many such businesses to instead file under Chapter 13, where debts are forgiven only after some are repaid.

It was introduced into the Senate by Senator Chuck Grassley, Republican Senator from Iowa.
4. Consumer Product Safety Act (CPSA)

The Consumer Product Safety Act was signed into law by President Richard Nixon on October 27, 1972. The most important result of the Act was the establishment of the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) as a permanent independent agency of the United States federal government, as per Section 4 of the CPSA. The Act gave CPSC the authority to develop safety standards and recall products presenting unreasonable or substantial risks of injury or death to consumers.
5. Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA)

The Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) was signed into law by President Gerald Ford on October 21, 1976. The act became the main federal law in the United States governing the disposal of solid waste and hazardous waste. The bill was an amendment of the Solid Waste Disposal Act of 1965.

It stated national goals for protecting human health and the environment, by conserving energy, conserving natural resources, reducing the amount of waste through recycling, and managing waste efficiently.

The bill was originally introduced into the Senate by Jennings Randolph, Democratic Senator from West Virginia.
6. Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)

The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 or ADA is a civil rights law that prohibited discrimination based on disability. It was signed into law by President George H. W. Bush on July 26, 1990. As per the act, American citizens were granted similar protections against discrimination regarding disability as the Civil Rights Act of 1964 did regarding race, sex, etc. Disabilities covered include both physical disabilities such as partially or completely missing limbs or mental disabilities such as bipolar disorder and major depressive disorder.

The bill was introduced in the Senate by Tom Harkin, Democratic Senator for Iowa.
7. Countering America's Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (CAATSA)

The CAATSA Act was signed into law by President Donald Trump on August 2, 2017. The law imposed sanctions on the countries Iran, Russia and North Korea. It required the President to sanction Iran's ballistic missile and mass destruction weapon programs, and people associated with Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps.

The act sanctioned Russia for its influence in Europe regarding cybersecurity and crude oil projects. It also sanctioned North Korean cargo, shipping and any goods prepared using North Korean convict or forced labor.

The bill was first introduced into the House by Ed Royce, Republican House Representative from California.
8. International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA)

Answer: Jimmy Carter

The International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) was signed into law by President Jimmy Carter on December 28, 1977. The act authorized the President to regulate international commerce in response to any unusual and extraordinary threat to the USA, which has its source outside the United States.

The President can block transactions and freeze assets in order to mitigate the threat. It was later used by President George W. Bus under Executive Order 13224 after 9/11. The bill was introduced into the House by Democrat Representative from New York, Jonathan B. Bingham.
9. Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)

Answer: Bill Clinton

The Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 (FMLA) was signed into law by President Bill Clinton on February 5, 1993. It required covered employers to provide employees with job-protected and unpaid leave for qualified medical and family reasons. The bill was first introduced in the House by Democrat Representative from Michigan, William Ford.

It allows eligible employees to take up to 12 work weeks of unpaid leave during any 12-month period to care for a new child, care for a seriously ill family member, or recover from a serious illness.
10. Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)

Answer: Lyndon B. Johnson

The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) was signed into law by President Lyndon Johnson on July 4, 1966. It is a federal law that requires previously unreleased documents controlled by the United States government to be partially or fully released. It was intended to make federal governmental agencies more transparent and accountable to the government.

It amended Section 3 of the Administrative Procedure Act. The bill was introduced in the Senate by Edward V. Long, Democratic Senator from Missouri.
