In first-person shooter video game "Singularity" (2010) marine Captain Renko is caught in electromagnetic surges on the island of Katorga-12, which phase him back to 1955. There he saves Nikolai Demichev, unaware that Demichev takes over the world back in the future. Players can upgrade a Time Manipulation Device (TMD) to stun or kill, revert or cause aging, and alter time and events backwards or forwards. Renko must make some important decisions about how to use his time-travel power.

Despite the cool TMD, "Singularity" was only moderately successful for developer Raven Software, which was thereafter involved in the "Call of Duty" series.
