I have B. I calculated the only option possible for me (if my parents were my biological parents), is genotype BO, because my dad had A and my mom AB. dad: genotype AO mom: genotype AB ________________ result: BO Reply #106. Oct 23 14, 3:33 PM |

Not quite, Alpine, if both parents were positive for A, then you MUST be positive for A, assuming they are your biological parents. You could be positive or negative for B, so your blood type could be A or AB. It couldn't be B or O. My sister-in-law once told me that her first-born is blood type O, meaning he isn't my brother's kid, since my brother (and all the rest of us) are blood type AB. Neither my brother nor anyone else in the family realizes this. I've kept it to myself for four years now. Reply #108. Nov 12 14, 1:22 AM |

Sorry, HairyBear, but that just isn't true. Here's a website that shows your chance of inheriting a given blood type from your parents: http://www.endmemo.com/medical/bloodtype.php Reply #109. Nov 12 14, 8:26 AM |

That's a great site, daver. It does clear up info in HairyBear's first paragraph, but his second paragraph seems correct. In the "Parent Blood Type Calculator" I entered one parent type AB and child type O and the result showed "Impossible". Reply #110. Nov 12 14, 11:05 AM |

My husband and I are both common people, O+. Our daughter is O-. I sometimes worry about her needing blood donation (Heaven forbid) because few can help her like she can help us and everyone else. Reply #116. May 31 15, 12:48 AM |
