A new book? I can find nothing online about one. A visit to a real bookshop is called for, methinks. Reply #101. Apr 01 14, 1:06 PM |

I'd be interested, but also surprised. She's 97, so I doubt she's still writing, but it could be an old manuscript that's been brought up to date and published. Reply #103. Apr 01 14, 3:20 PM |

Ah, Josephine Tey! My fav is "The Daughter of Time", but I quite liked "Brat Farrer", too. Wasn't it based on a real life case? Reply #104. Apr 01 14, 4:21 PM |

Zippo, should probably tell you - your Mary Stewart quizzes have me rereading her late-in-life books. I don't love them quite as much as the ones from the fifties and sixties, but they're still pretty good and worth a reread. Reply #105. Apr 01 14, 4:23 PM |

I do not think "Brat Farrar" is based on real life, but I could be wrong. I have only read this and one other of Tey's works. The other was "The Man in the Queue" and I hated the ending so much, I have not tried any others! Mary Stewart has long been a favourite of mine and I am not proud - I will read them all. Reply #106. "The Daughter of Time" has some very unusual detecting going on - it's not your standard detective novel, by a long shot, but fascinating. I first read it at about fourteen, and it sent me right off to read some Shakespeare. Reply #107. Apr 02 14, 12:48 PM |

I wanted to do a quiz for Literature. Working on a quiz on Harper Lee's work. I really enjoy each visit to that book. I hope no one has claimed it. I would hate being in someone's way. Reply #116. Jul 18 14, 3:32 PM |
